Mystic Grove is a rare overworld biome added by Biomes O' Plenty. It is a wet forest of large magic trees, flowers and mushrooms, tinted in pale teal, mint and violet. In Fear Nightfall it is a hostile-leaning forest: its monster table is led by Slimes and includes Witches, Necromancers and horror mobs from other mods, so it is dangerous at night. Players seek it out for its distinctive colours and the flowers that give stew effects.
Description
The biome has bright, saturated colours. The grass is a pale cyan-teal (#69cfdb) and the foliage a mint green (#70e0b5). Water is violet (#9c3fe4), the underwater fog is a deep purple, the surface fog is a soft pink (#ffc9da), and the sky is a light cyan (#aaefff). The violet water is the quickest way to tell the grove apart from the greener forests around it.
The grove is built around large trees of the magic family. Each chunk receives five tree attempts most of the time (weight 4 of 5) and fifteen attempts the rest of the time (weight 1 of 5). Most trees are the default magic tree. The rest are big flowering trees (about 10% of attempts), big magic trees (about 30%) and giant trees (about 2.5%).
Generation
Mystic Grove comes from the rare overworld region of Biomes O' Plenty, which has a weight of 2. In the rare grid it sits at a mid-temperature, moderately humid point, alongside Ominous Woods, Auroral Garden and Fungal Jungle. Its climate values are a temperature of 0.7 and a downfall of 0.8, and it has rain.
In Fear Nightfall it covers about 0.61% of the land surface and about 0.18% of the cave layer at y = -30. The pack's horror weighting does not include it: it is not one of the biomes raised to 6× weight in the spookier world setup. It is still a horror-leaning biome because of its monster table and the horror structures that generate in it.
Features
- Trees: the magic tree family described above.
- Flowers: a patch of Glowflower, Pink Daffodil, Azure Bluet and Allium, placed 64 times per chunk, spread 7 blocks horizontally and 3 vertically, and only on air. See Biomes O' Plenty Flowers for the flower items.
- Mushrooms: brown and red mushrooms, extra huge red mushrooms and small red mushrooms. Glow lichen also generates.
- Plant patches: Blue Hydrangea, Clover, Lilac, Sprouts, grass and Watergrass.
- Water and clay: white sand disks and clay disks in the underground layers.
- Ores: the default vanilla overworld ores. The pack adds mithril ore from Iron's Spells 'n Spellbooks, sulfur ore from Butchery, and infected diamond ore and black argillite from Born in Chaos.
- Pack additions: wild carrots, onions and rice from Farmer's Delight, silk cocoons from Critters and Companions, wild flax and cave urns from Supplementaries, and cliff features from Stony Cliffs.
Two of the flowers have stew effects. A suspicious stew made from Glowflower gives Glowing, and one made from Pink Daffodil gives Invisibility. Neither flower has an effect on contact.
Mobs and structures
The tables below are generated from the spawn data. Slime has the highest monster weight (100), so slimes are the most common hostile mob in the grove at night. Slime Golem also spawns as a monster here. Witches and Necromancers are common. The horror entries include the Dread Hound, Spiders Mother and, rarely, Krampus.
Friendly and ambient mobs include the Allay, Crow, Rabbit, Fox, Wolf, Honey Golem and Coal Golem, the Ferret, and the water creatures listed in the table.

Structures generate here from many mods. The horror structures from Graveyard and Born in Chaos are in this set, along with the Catacombs from Iron's Spells 'n Spellbooks. The pack places horror structures about 30% closer together, so they appear more often in this biome than vanilla spacing would give.
Tips
- Carry a sword and light on night walks through the grove. The monster table is dense, and a Slime splits into smaller Slimes when it is killed.
- Look for the violet water to find the grove quickly.
- Because the biome is rare, plan trips to it. Use the structure table to decide which horror structures are worth the detour.
- Glowflower gives Glowing when brewed into a suspicious stew, and Pink Daffodil gives Invisibility.
- For the other horror biomes, see Horror and Spooky Content. For nearby biomes with a similar mob mix, see Spider Nest and Glowing Grotto.
