Pine Wood is the name of the pine wood set added by two mods in the pack: Biomes O' Plenty and Regions Unexplored. Each mod registers a complete set of pine blocks and items, so the pack contains two families of pine blocks that share the same display names. Both families are crafted from ordinary materials and need no special tool or progression.

Obtaining

Both sets are crafted from pine logs. The Biomes O' Plenty Pine Log and the Regions Unexplored Pine Log each make Pine Wood, and planks come from a pine log as well. The other blocks in each set are made from planks. The recipes are listed in the table below.

Pine trees are generated by Regions Unexplored. Its taiga_pine_trees toggle is on by default and replaces the vanilla pine and mega pine trees with Regions Unexplored pine trees built from pine wood blocks. Regions Unexplored also places pine trees in its own Pine Taiga biome, which belongs to the pine and redwood taiga group (weight 75). The Grove biome receives a replacement called Pine Slopes at weight 50, where temperature is above -0.45.

Usage

The Biomes O' Plenty set is a standard wood set. It has logs, wood, stripped logs and stripped wood, planks, stairs, slabs, fences, fence gates, doors, trapdoors, pressure plates, buttons, signs, hanging signs and boats. Each block's hardness, blast resistance, fuel value and tool are listed in the table under Items.

The Regions Unexplored set has the same family of blocks and adds several plant items:

• Pine Branch: made from one Pine Log and one stick, yielding two branches. Tree branch generation is controlled by the misc.branch_mode config, which is set to place_branches. The other values are place_logs and dont_place.
• Pine Shrub: made from two Pine Saplings. A Pine Shrub can be crafted back into two saplings, so the two form a loop.
• Pine Sapling and Pine Leaves: the sapling and leaves that Regions Unexplored pine trees grow from.
• Dead Pine: a dead variant made of a Dead Pine Shrub, a Dead Pine Sapling and Dead Pine Leaves. The shrub and sapling form a loop in the same way as the living pine.

Two sets, one name

The two sets are separate blocks and items with the same names. No recipe converts one set into the other. The planks recipe accepts a Pine Log or one of three alternatives, and the table below lists both families' planks and logs.

Regions Unexplored crafts a Pine Boat from five planks, and a Pine Boat can be combined with a chest to make a Pine Boat with Chest. A Pine Boat can also be combined with a cannon to make a Cannon Boat Pine (see Cannons and Cannon Boats). Biomes O' Plenty has the same pair of boat items. A Regions Unexplored Pine Sign is also an ingredient for Way Sign Pine.

Both mods craft a Pine Hanging Sign from two chains and six stripped pine logs, which yields six hanging signs.
