The End Wilds is a biome of the End dimension added by Biomes O' Plenty. It is one of three Biomes O' Plenty biomes placed in the End's highlands, alongside End Reef and End Corruption. It has the highest placement weight of the three. Its terrain is covered in End-themed trees and plants, and it contains a range of mod-added End structures, including End Mega Ships and End Castle, Lighthouse and Ship.

Description

The End Wilds has a golden-orange grass and foliage colour (#EAB35D), a blue water colour (#3F76E4) and a black sky. Its fog is a muted mauve (#A080A0). The floor is Algal End Stone, placed by the biome's surface rule. The biome has no rain and no snow. Its ambient effects are End spore particles, which appear with a probability of 0.005, and the legacy cave ambient mood sound.

Its trees are Empyreal trees, which yield Empyreal Wood. Endbloom flowers, Enderphyte plants and Lumaloop plants form the ground cover.

Generation

The End Wilds is placed by a TerraBlender region in the End's highlands. Within that region its weight is 9, against 6 for End Reef and 3 for End Corruption. Its temperature is 0.5 and its downfall is 0.5. Its share of the End in Fear Nightfall is shown in the infobox above.

The pack's horror weighting does not apply to this biome. The End Wilds is not among the biomes that Fear Nightfall raises to six times weight, such as Dead Forest or Ominous Woods.

Features

  • Empyreal trees. Each chunk attempts to place one tree, with a 10% chance of a second. Trees are placed only where there is no water above the surface.
  • Endbloom. Up to 96 attempts per chunk place Endbloom flowers in air blocks, spread over a 7-block horizontal radius and a 3-block vertical radius.
  • Enderphytes. Enderphyte patches are placed on the surface, with five placement attempts per chunk.
  • Lumaloop. Lumaloop plants are placed on average once per chunk.
  • Ores and deposits. The biome receives the sulfur ore and salt-disc features added by Butchery.

Endbloom and Enderphytes are on the vanilla enderman-holdable block list, so Endermen can pick them up.

Mobs and structures

The End Wilds has no hostile mob spawns. Its spawn table contains only water-dwelling fish. The structures table lists the 47 structures that can generate here, including End Mega Ships and Moog's End Structures from the Moog's End set, End Castle, Lighthouse and Ship, the End houses, temples, ships and gateways from AdoraBuild End Structures, and End cities.

Fear Nightfall limits the spawn modifiers of Born in Chaos to the Overworld, so none of its mobs spawn in the End Wilds.

Tips

  • Check the structures table before exploring the biome, since its large structures are spread across it.
  • Endbloom and Enderphyte patches are the easiest source of End plants for decoration and dye.
