The Cypress Wood set is a tree family whose blocks and items are split across two mods. Regions Unexplored adds the wood set itself: logs, wood, stripped variants, planks, stairs, slabs, fences, fence gates, doors, trapdoors, buttons, pressure plates, signs, hanging signs, boats, and branches. Biomes O' Plenty adds the cypress sapling, the cypress leaves, the potted sapling, and the tree that grows from its sapling. Both mods register an item named "Cypress Sapling" and an item named "Cypress Leaves", so the two sets of these blocks look the same in game.
Regions Unexplored places its cypress trees in wet bayou terrain. Biomes O' Plenty places its cypress trees in the Mediterranean Forest.
Obtaining
Natural generation
- Regions Unexplored: the Bayou and Old Growth Bayou biomes make 4 tree placement attempts per chunk. Each attempt picks from a weighted selector in which cypress has weight 2 out of 5, the same weight as willow swamp trees. Placement is restricted to surfaces with no more than 2 blocks of water above the ocean floor. The cypress tree has a trunk of cypress logs, a cypress branch block, and a minimum size of 17 blocks with a random variation of up to 4 blocks.
- Biomes O' Plenty: the cypress tree is one of the tree types in the Mediterranean Forest biome. These trees are 12 to 15 blocks tall, have a spruce log trunk, and have cypress leaves at the bottom of the canopy. Their trunks are spruce logs, so they do not drop cypress logs.
Crafting
Logs are the base material for the rest of the set. Four logs make three wood, and four stripped logs make three stripped wood. One log makes four planks. The full set of recipes is shown below.

Usage
Building and decoration
Cypress planks are the most-used item in the set, with 41 recipes that take them as an ingredient. Most of the set's blocks are made from planks: stairs and slabs, doors, trapdoors, fences, fence gates, pressure plates, buttons, and signs. Stripped logs are used for hanging signs. The hanging sign recipe needs two chains and six stripped cypress logs.
Cypress wood is flammable. Cypress boats and chest boats are both available, and the plain boat is crafted from five planks.

Saplings and shrubs
The Regions Unexplored shrub converts between saplings and shrubs. Two cypress saplings craft into one cypress shrub, and a shrub crafts back into two saplings. The shrub has a compost chance of 65%. The cypress leaves and branches have a compost chance of 30%.
Block properties
- Cypress log hardness is 2 and blast resistance is 2. A stripped cypress log has a blast resistance of 3.
- Cypress leaves have a hardness of 0.2, and the Biomes O' Plenty cypress sapling has a hardness of 0.
- Cypress branches have a hardness of 1 and a blast resistance of 1.5.
- Cypress logs are fuel for 1.5 items in a furnace. Cypress planks and most other wooden blocks are fuel for 1.5 items as well. Saplings are fuel for 0.5 items.
