The Infernal Pumpkin Patch is a small surface structure added by Born in Chaos. It is a clearing of grass lit by carved infernal pumpkins, and it is one of the horror structures in Fear Nightfall. It contains no chests and no mobs. Its main interest is as a landmark, since its infernal pumpkin blocks glow.
Generation
The patch is a single-piece jigsaw structure in the Overworld, placed on the surface. It is placed on a random-spread grid with an in-game spacing of 25 chunks, versus the mod default of about 35. The infobox shows the observed density of about 52 patches per 26 km².
The structure can generate in 102 biomes, including Plains, Forest, Taiga, Savanna and Snowy Plains, along with many modded biomes. The biome table below lists them.
Fear Nightfall makes horror structures denser. Born in Chaos is one of the horror sets placed about 30% closer together. Where its set shares a placement group with other structures, it gets 6 times the weight. Horror structures cluster in temperate-to-cool, humid forests, taigas and swamps, where about a quarter of structures are horror-themed. Deserts, jungles and mountain peaks are mostly unaffected.
Layout
The structure is built from one template. The template is a small clearing of grass blocks and grass plants, with candles and infernal evil pumpkin blocks placed on the grass. The template has no walls, doors, chests or interior rooms, and it has no traps or puzzles. The structure's pool contains no other variants, so every patch has the same layout, apart from the terrain it sits on.
The infernal evil pumpkin block placed in patches emits light at level 13, which makes the clearing easy to spot at night from a distance.
Inhabitants
The structure template places no mobs, and the patch is not a mob spawner. Nothing spawns on a patch because of the structure itself.
Hostile mobs from the pack's global spawn pool can still wander into a patch, as they can anywhere in the same biomes. Born in Chaos adds about 80 monster types to that pool, which raises monster density in most biomes.
Loot
The patch has no chests, so it contains no chest loot. The infernal evil pumpkin block placed in patches has an empty loot table, so breaking one drops nothing. A patch therefore does not supply the items used in the evil pumpkin recipes. The rotten variant is crafted from an infernal evil pumpkin and rotten flesh, not taken from a patch.

Tips
The glowing pumpkins make a patch easy to find at night. Horror mobs are more common after dark, so approach a patch in daylight if possible. Bring a light source for the approach, since the patch is open ground with no cover.
Do not expect loot from a patch. The visit is worth it for the landmark, the terrain around it, or the biome it sits in.
