The Lavender Forest and Lavender Valley are two temperate, humid overworld biomes added by Terralith. Both are forests with lavender foliage and pale mint grass, and both share the same climate, sky and fog settings. Their trees are mostly dark oak-leaved trees with a share of birch, and their flowers are alliums and lilacs. Both biomes allow several of Fear Nightfall's horror structures and hostile mobs, so players should expect dangerous encounters in them after dark.
The grass tint is #9BE0BC (pale mint), the foliage tint is #C8B7FF (lavender), the water tint is #87B2F4, the fog is #C0D8FF and the sky is #79A6FF. Both biomes use these values. The ambient music is the vanilla forest track, and the mood sound is the vanilla cave ambience.
Lavender Forest
The Lavender Forest is a forest biome whose default tree is a dark oak-leaved tree. Roughly a third of trees are birch, and about 1% are a tree with acacia leaves and a forking trunk. Allium and lilac patches grow between the trees. Wild carrots and onions, pumpkins, sugar cane and brown and red mushrooms also appear on the ground.
Lavender Valley
The Lavender Valley uses the same palette, trees and flowers as the forest. Its distinct terrain feature is canyon cliff grass in two heights (terralith:canyon/cliff/grass_upper and terralith:canyon/cliff/grass_lower), which places grass on the cliff faces. Its structure list is longer than the forest's (see below).
Generation
Both biomes have a temperature of 0.7 and a downfall of 0.8, and both have rain. They use the vanilla cave, cave extra underground and canyon carvers.
In the pack's measured land share, the Lavender Valley covers about 0.06% of land and the Lavender Forest rounds to 0.00%. Neither biome is on the pack's list of 6x horror-weighted biomes.
Features
Trees: the tree selector places a birch tree about 32.5% of the time and an acacia-leaved tree with a forking trunk about 1% of the time. Otherwise it places the default dark oak-leaved tree, which has dark oak leaves weighted 12 against jungle leaves weighted 1 and a 1% beehive decorator.
Flowers: allium (weight 5) and lilac (weight 2), placed in eight tries within a 6-block radius and a 2-block vertical spread.
Clay: clay disks with a radius of 4 to 6 blocks and a half-height of 2, placed in dirt or clay.
Ores: the standard overworld ores (coal, copper, iron, gold, redstone, lapis, diamond, tuff, gravel, and the andesite, diorite and granite veins). The pack also adds Born in Chaos' infected diamond ore and black argillite, Butchery's sulfur ore and salt disc generation, and Iron's Spells' mithril ore.
Water and lava: spring water and spring lava, plus underground and surface lava lakes and an amethyst geode.
Underground: monster rooms and deep monster rooms, which hold spawners.
Plants: Farmer's Delight wild carrots and wild onions, and Critters and Companions silk cocoons, including hanging silk cocoons.
Mobs and structures
Both biomes share the same hostile mob table. Spiders, skeletons, creepers, slimes and zombies carry the highest weights. The rarest hostile mobs are Krampus, Mutant Enderman and the Supreme Bonescaller, each at weight 1. Dread Hound appears at weight 7. Passive mobs include sheep, pigs, chickens, cows, wolves, rabbits, crows (the most common creature at weight 20), ferrets and honey golems. Ambient mobs include bats, ladybugs, leaf insects, snails and stag beetles. Glow squid spawn underground in water.
Terralith's Lavender Forest allows about 177 structures and the Lavender Valley about 208. Both allow the Dark Tower, the Haunted House, the Firewell and the Illager Hideout and Manor. The valley's structure list also includes birch houses, and it includes the Dark Forest Settlement and the Great Toadstool. Born in Chaos, Graveyard and Sleepy Hollows structures are placed about 30% closer together in the pack, so these horror structures appear more often here than they would at default spacing.
