The Sakura Grove and Sakura Valley are two temperate forest biomes added by Terralith. They share one climate and one set of spawns. The Grove is a forest of cherry and birch trees, and the Valley is the same forest with cliff-side grass added to its terrain. Both are rare in Fear Nightfall, and both are full of the pack's hostile mobs and horror structures.
The Grove is the more common of the two. Both biomes have a temperature of 0.7 and a downfall of 0.8, and both get rain. Their fog is pale blue (#d2ebff) and their sky is a lighter blue (#a5c5ff). The Grove's grass is a bright green (#79cf85) and its foliage is a darker green (#87c059).
Both biomes are open forests of cherry and birch trees. The ground is grass with scattered podzol patches. Flowers on the ground are allium, pink and white tulips, and pink petals. Bamboo, sugar cane, pumpkins and glow lichen grow on the surface. Water is teal (#4bb7cf), and the water fog is dark blue.
Sakura Grove
The Grove has the more varied terrain. Its trees are cherry trees placed in three forms: about 10% are large cherry trees, about 70% are medium cherry trees, and about 20% are cherry bushes. A second cherry placement is weighted 80% toward a different cherry tree shape and 20% toward bushes. The Grove also has birch trees, placed about once in four chunks and once in three chunks in a sparse form. Its terrain includes a set of boulders from Terralith's taiga and birch features.
Sakura Valley
The Valley is built on the same base as the Grove, with two differences. Its raw terrain includes two of Terralith's cliff grass features, which the Grove does not have. It also has no birch boulders. Its trees, flowers, bamboo and sugar cane are otherwise the same as the Grove's. The Valley covers about a quarter as much of the land as the Grove.
Generation
Both biomes sit in the temperate, humid part of the climate map. In Fear Nightfall, the Grove makes up about 0.04% of the land surface and the Valley about 0.01%, so a player will often cross a stretch of ordinary forest before reaching one. Neither biome is on the pack's list of biomes given 6× horror weight, so they are not boosted.
The ore and cave layers are the same for both biomes. Vanilla ores are placed at all the usual heights, including coal, iron, gold, redstone, lapis, copper and diamond, with buried and large diamond veins. The pack adds infected diamond ore from Born in Chaos, black argillite, sulfur ore from Butchery, and Mithril ore from Iron's Spells 'n Spellbooks. Springs of water and lava appear underground. Clay beaches are placed at Y 61 in water.
Features
Podzol patches appear in about one chunk in four.
Flowers are placed three per chunk. Allium is the most common, then pink tulip, white tulip and pink petals.
Silk cocoons from Critters and Companions are placed on the ground and hanging from trees.
Cave urns and wild flax from Supplementaries are placed as surface decorations.
Wild carrots and wild onions from Farmer's Delight grow in patches.
Mobs and structures
Both biomes use the same mob lists. The monster list is long. The highest weights go to spiders, skeletons, creepers and slimes, followed by zombies. Many of the pack's horror mobs also spawn here, including Necromancer (weight 18), Dread Hound (weight 7), Bonescaller (weight 5) and Krampus (weight 1). Passive mobs include Crow (weight 20), sheep, pigs, chickens, cows, Honey Golem (weight 6), rabbits and Ferret. Ambient mobs include Ladybug, Leaf Insect and Stag Beetle. Water spawns include Corpse Fish and glow squids in underground water.
The structures include horror structures from the pack, such as the Haunted House from Graveyard, the Firewell from Born in Chaos, the Catacombs and the Evoker Fort from Iron's Spells 'n Spellbooks. The full structure list is long, so the table below is the best reference.
