The Glacial Hut and Igloo are two small surface structures added by Terralith. The glacial hut generates in the Glacial Chasm biome, and the igloo generates in the Snowy Cherry Grove biome. Both are rare in the Fear Nightfall pack and carry food, basic tools and a few decorative items as loot, so they are mainly worth a visit when a player is already exploring one of those biomes.

Generation

Both structures are in the Overworld and use the terralith:regular structure set. Each has a weight of 1 out of a total of 4 in that set, so each takes a quarter of the set's placements. Both use random-spread placement with a spacing of 51 chunks and a separation of 28 chunks. These are the in-game values after the pack's Sparse Structures tuning, which is about 1.9 times the mod's default spacing of roughly 27 chunks. Neither structure appeared in a 26 km² sample of the pack's terrain, so expect to travel a long way to find one.

The structures are not horror structures, so the pack's horror density boost does not apply to them. They follow the pack's general non-horror spacing, which is much sparser than the mod's defaults.

Both structures use Terralith's beard-thin terrain adaptation and generate on the surface, starting at the world surface heightmap.

Layout

Glacial hut

The glacial hut is built from one of three interior room templates, chosen at random. The template pool contains only these three single pieces, so each hut is one room template.

Igloo

The igloo uses a single room template.

Inhabitants

The igloo's template places one fox. The glacial hut's templates place no mobs.

Loot

Both structures use loot tables added by Terralith. The glacial hut uses two tables, one for junk and one for a main chest, and the igloo uses one table.

The glacial hut tables are the most varied. The junk table gives snow blocks, powder snow buckets, snowballs and ice, plus cooked and raw pork and beef, a set of wooden and stone tools, leather armor, cooked and raw chicken, apples and bread. The main chest table gives a larger share of the meat, snow and ice items, the same tools and armour, and the chicken, apple and bread items.

The igloo table is the richest. It rolls three to five times from a pool of nine equally weighted entries: snowballs, cherry saplings, a baked potato, sweet berries, cherry logs, an emerald, an amethyst shard, lapis lazuli and a writable book. Each roll therefore has about a one in nine chance of giving the emerald, and the table is the only source of emeralds in the two structures. A second, separate pool gives one cherry sapling.

The generated tables below list the exact item chances.

Tips

Look for the glacial hut in the Glacial Chasm, and for the igloo in Snowy Cherry Grove. Because the structures are rare, plan a route through those biomes rather than searching at random. The igloo is the better stop for emeralds and lapis, while the glacial hut is the place to find leather armor and early tools.
