Cloud Forest is a cool, humid forest biome added by Terralith. It is rare in Fear Nightfall, and its hostile mob table has close to sixty entries. Most of those mobs are added by other mods, so the biome is dangerous after dark even though its pale colours suggest a calm forest.
Description
The biome has a pale, washed-out look. The sky is a light grey-white and the fog is a cool grey. The grass is a muted green, the foliage is a pale sage green, and the water is a clear blue.
The trees are the main visual feature. Most are the cloud tree, a tall spruce-wood tree with a forking trunk and rounded, blob-shaped spruce leaves. White flower patches, tall grass and large ferns cover the ground between the trees. Brown and red mushrooms, sugar cane and pumpkin patches also grow here.
Generation
Cloud Forest has a temperature of 0.25 and a downfall of 0.8. It is tagged as a cold biome, and its precipitation is rain.
In Fear Nightfall the biome covers about 0.01% of land. The infobox shows its exact share.
The pack places horror structures about 30% closer together and concentrates them in temperate-to-cool, humid forests. This biome fits that description, but it is not one of the biomes given a 6× weight for horror content. Its mob and structure tables below are therefore a mix of the pack's horror additions and ordinary Terralith content.
Features
Trees and plants
Trees are placed at 14 or 15 attempts per chunk. The cloud tree is the default. Three other tree types also appear, a bending birch, a twilight tree and a bending cloud tree, each with a smaller chance.
White flower patches are placed as a separate feature. Ground plants include glow lichen, large ferns, grass patches, brown and red mushrooms, sugar cane and pumpkin patches.
Ores and underground features
Cloud Forest uses the standard overworld ore set, including coal, iron, copper, gold, redstone, lapis lazuli and diamond. The pack adds its own ores on top of these. Born in Chaos adds infected diamond ore, Iron's Spells 'n Spellbooks adds mithril ore, and Butchery adds sulfur ore.
The biome has lava lakes, both underground and at the surface. It also has spring water and spring lava.
Pack additions
Critters and Companions adds silk cocoons, including hanging ones. Supplementaries adds cave urns and wild flax. Stony Cliffs adds cliff features on the slopes.
Mobs and structures
The hostile mobs are the largest part of the biome's spawns. Spiders, skeletons, creepers and slimes have the highest weight in the monster table, and zombies follow close behind. Many of the remaining entries are horror mobs added by other mods, including revenants, necromancers, dread hounds and slime golems. Dread hounds are uncommon in this biome, but they do spawn.
Passive mobs are sheep, pigs, chickens, cows, wolves, foxes and rabbits, along with honey golems from Golem Overhaul and crows, which have the highest passive weight. Ambient spawns include ladybugs and bats.
The water spawns are mostly fish, with glow squid underground. The tables below list every mob and structure with its weight.
The biome has 159 structures that can generate here. Some of the most notable are the forest version of the Dark Tower from Born in Chaos, the Haunted House from Graveyard, and the Catacombs from Iron's Spells 'n Spellbooks. Structures from other sets, including Terralith and pillager camps, also appear.

Tips
Hostile mobs spawn in the dark, so light the forest floor well if you plan to camp or build here at night.
Expect a steady stream of hostile mobs from the monster table. Spiders, skeletons and creepers are the most common, but the horror mobs can appear without warning. Keep a sword and a ranged weapon on hand, and check the spawn table before you explore after dark.
Diamond and mithril ore is available in the stone, and the infected diamond ore from Born in Chaos is worth mining, though the surrounding stone can be dangerous. Treat the lava lakes and spring lava as hazards, since they are close to the surface in some places.
