The Yosemite Cliffs and Lowlands are two biomes added by Terralith. Yosemite Cliffs is a rocky biome of stone outcrops, calcite and diorite, and small waterfalls. Yosemite Lowlands is a forested neighbour with oak trees, grass-topped stone columns and silk cocoons. Both are rare in Fear Nightfall, each covering about 0.03% and 0.02% of the land surface, so they are easy to miss. They carry a wide mob list that mixes vanilla monsters with horror mobs from the pack's mods, so they are worth knowing before a night-time trip.
Description
Yosemite Cliffs
The cliffs are built from stone, with grass patches laid over the stone surface. These patches are 1 to 5 blocks in radius and carry short grass and tall grass. Blobs of calcite and diorite, each about 45 blocks in size, are set into the stone walls. Water is placed on calcite ledges by the "waterfall" feature, which produces small waterfalls running down the cliff faces. The biome has almost no trees: its only tree-like features are these water columns, so wood must come from elsewhere.
The water colour is #3f76e4, the fog is #c0d8ff and the sky is #7da3ff. Cave and canyon carvers both apply, so the ground is pierced by caves and ravines.
Yosemite Lowlands
The lowlands are a green, forested biome. The grass colour is #598347, the foliage colour is #508231 and the water colour is #3647aa. Grass-topped stone columns from the canyon cliff features stand on cliff faces across the terrain. Trees are mostly oak: about 30% of tree picks are mega oaks, and four spruce and birch variants take about 7.5% of picks each. Flowers, sugar cane, pumpkins, berry bushes, large ferns and mushrooms also grow here. Silk cocoons from Critters and Companions hang from trees and sit on the ground. Andesite disks replace patches of gravel, sand, dirt, grass, calcite and basalt, and small patches of wild potatoes from Farmer's Delight grow on the ground.
Generation
Both biomes use the same climate settings: downfall 0.8 and rain. Yosemite Cliffs has a temperature of 0.375 and Yosemite Lowlands has a temperature of 0.25. Both are placed by the pack's custom biome table, which gives every Terralith biome a weight within its climate cell. Terralith as a whole makes up about 31% of land in a Fear Nightfall world.
Neither biome is on the pack's list of 6x-weighted horror biomes, so they are not especially common at night. Both carry the minecraft:stronghold_biased_to tag, which means strongholds are more likely to be placed beneath them, and both can host a large number of structures: 115 in Yosemite Cliffs and 174 in Yosemite Lowlands.
Features
Both biomes share a long list of ore features. These include the usual vanilla ores for coal, copper, iron, gold, redstone, lapis and diamond, along with the granite, diorite, andesite and tuff veins. The pack's mods add more ore to the same list. Iron's Spells 'n Spellbooks adds Mithril ore, Butchery adds Sulfur ore, and Born in Chaos adds infected diamond ore in both stone and deepslate. Underground lava lakes, amethyst geodes and monster rooms also generate in both biomes, so dungeons are common underground.
Supplementaries adds cave urns and wild flax to both biomes. Stony Cliffs Are Cool adds its cliff feature to both. Yosemite Lowlands adds the silk cocoons, wild potato patches and gravel and dirt ore that are absent from Yosemite Cliffs.
Mobs and structures
Hostile mobs dominate the monster tables in both biomes. The vanilla monsters spiders, skeletons, creepers and slimes have the highest weight of 100 each, followed by zombies at 95. The horror mobs from the pack include Revenant at weight 25, Slime Golem at 25, Skeleton Creeper at 20, Necromancer at 18, Dread Hound at 7 and Krampus at 1. Yosemite Lowlands adds Crow (weight 20), Honey Golem (weight 6) and Ferret (weight 3) to the creature list, plus several insects in the ambient list.
Yosemite Cliffs has bats as its only ambient mob. Water life is the same in both biomes: the Freshwater Fish, Corpse Fish and Glutton Fish from Born in Chaos, and glow squid in underground water.
Structures that can generate in Yosemite Cliffs include Catacombs and Evoker Fort from Iron's Spells 'n Spellbooks, the illager hideout, Firewell from Born in Chaos, and mineshafts. Yosemite Lowlands adds the Dark Tower from Born in Chaos and several overworld camps from Formations. The pack's horror structures are placed about 30% closer together than in default spacing, so graveyard and Born in Chaos structures are denser than usual here.
Pack-wide changes also shape these tables. Pack-wide, Born in Chaos spawn weights were halved to limit how much they crowd out vanilla monsters, and its spawns are limited to the Overworld.

Tips
- Bring wood before entering Yosemite Cliffs. The only tree-like features are water columns, so logs must come from Yosemite Lowlands or another biome.
- Expect hostile mobs in both biomes at night. Revenants, Necromancers and Dread Hounds are among the horror mobs with the weights listed above, so carry a sword and armour before going out after dark.
- Yosemite Lowlands is the better place to gather materials. It has oak and other trees, sugar cane, pumpkins and berry bushes, while the cliffs do not.
