The AdoraBuild Trees and Tree Houses are a group of five surface structures added by AdoraBuild: Structures. Each is a small prefabricated build that uses a tree or a large fungus as its frame: a birch tree with a stone-and-plank room built into it, a standalone birch beehive, a cherry tree with a beehive, a giant red mushroom with a room on its cap, and a plain oak tree with a small hut. Each one holds a few chests. Players care about them mainly for the loot in those chests and for the bees that some of them contain.

Unlike the mod's houses and temples, none of these structures places a hostile mob or a boss. The only mobs they place are bees, and the only interactive blocks are the chests, beehives, a few crafting and enchanting blocks, and a lodestone and ender chest in the mushroom. They are safe places to pass through, and they make good places to stop at night, although the surrounding biome is what determines what spawns outside.

Generation

All five structures generate in the Overworld during the surface structures step, placed at random across chunks with a fixed spacing and separation. The in-game spacing and separation values for each one are in the placement table below. Each structure belongs to one of three sets in the mod's data: the birch beehive is in the overworld set (2 of 87 weight), the birch tree and oak tree are in the rare overworld set (1 of 12 weight each), and the cherry tree and giant mushroom are in the rare biome set (1 of 8 weight each).

The pack's Sparse Structures tuning spreads non-horror structures about three times further apart than the mod's defaults. These five are not horror structures, so the pack does not weight them up. The scaling factor applied to all five is 2.88, and the spacing values shown in the table already include it.

Each structure is limited to the biomes listed in its biome tag. The birch beehive and birch tree can generate in 43 biomes, including Sleepy Hollows, Silver Birch Forest and Birch Taiga. The oak tree has the widest range at 65 biomes, mostly open forest, plains, meadow and shrubland biomes. The cherry tree is limited to six biomes: Cherry Grove, Sakura Grove, Sakura Valley, Snowy Cherry Grove, Magnolia Woodland and Snowblossom Grove, where Snowy Cherry Grove is the snowy variant. The giant mushroom is the most restricted, appearing only in Mushroom Fields and Fungal Fen.

On the 26 km² sample used to check the pack's placement, the birch tree was the only one of the five observed, at about 1 per 26 km². None of the others appeared in that sample, so they are rarer than the spacing alone suggests, and a player should expect to explore a large area to find one.

Layout

Each structure is a single template with no random room pieces, so each build looks the same in every world. The dimensions below are the template sizes.

Birch Beehive

The birch beehive is a 5 × 6 × 7 block build on a floor of birch slabs over grass. It is enclosed by birch fences and has three beehives, two chests, four lanterns, three campfires, and a small flower garden of poppies, dandelions, lilacs and rose bushes. It is the only one of the five whose main feature is the beehive itself, and it places nine bees inside.

Birch Tree

The birch tree is the largest of the five templates, at 14 × 19 × 14 blocks. Most of its volume is stone, dirt and grass, because the template is buried into the terrain (see the terrain note under Generation). The room is built from stone bricks, bricks and birch planks, with ladders climbing up the side. It contains two chests, a bookshelf, a crafting table, an enchanting table, an anvil and a campfire. Its typical size is 38 × 43 × 38 blocks.

Cherry Tree

The cherry tree is a 13 × 11 × 7 block build made mostly of cherry leaves and a small amount of cherry log, with pink petals on the ground. It holds a beehive and a bee nest, two chests, a campfire, a trapdoor and ladders. The beehive is the structure's main feature, and bees are placed with it.

Mushroom

The giant mushroom is an 8 × 10 × 8 block build on a mycelium base. Its cap is red mushroom block and its stem is mushroom stem. It has four chests, two beds, a bookshelf, a crafting table, a lodestone, an ender chest and a lantern, and it contains one armor stand as decoration. It is the only one of the five that has a full bedroom set and an ender chest.

Oak Tree

The oak tree is the smallest template at 10 × 9 × 7 blocks. It is an oak trunk and canopy of oak leaves with a small hut at the base, containing one chest, a campfire, a crafting table and ladders. It is the least complex of the five.

Inhabitants

The birch beehive places nine bees inside its beehives, and the cherry tree places bees as well. Bees are neutral mobs in vanilla Minecraft: they attack a player who hits one, and other bees nearby join in. None of the other three structures places a mob, and the mushroom's armor stand does not count as a mob for combat.

No structure in this group places a boss, a spawner or a horror mob. Outside the structure, the usual monsters for the biome still spawn as normal, so the structures are not dangerous in themselves.

Loot

The birch beehive's two chests use the mod's beehive loot table. It makes three to five rolls from a pool that includes honeycomb, honeycomb block, honey block, honey bottle, shears, flint and steel, glass bottles, string and a set of flowers. Each chest also receives between zero and ten bonus rolls. Honeycomb and honey blocks are the most useful items here, and shears and flint and steel are useful for a player starting out.

The birch tree and the mushroom use the mod's food loot table. The food loot table makes three to seven rolls and includes seeds (wheat, pumpkin, melon and beetroot), bread, apples, cooked meats, potatoes, carrots, cookies, cake, a golden apple (weight 1), suspicious stews and glow berries. Food is the main value of these chests, especially in the early game.

The cherry tree and the mushroom also use the vanilla simple dungeon table, which contains rope, rotten flesh, bone, gunpowder, string, arcane essence and scrolls. The birch tree also uses the vanilla stronghold library table, which contains smithing templates, scrolls, paper, books, ancient knowledge fragments, enchanted books and arcane essence. The loot table for each structure is listed in the table below.

Tips

Leave the beehives alone unless you are ready for bees. Hitting a bee provokes the others nearby, so approach the birch beehive with a clear route out. The birch tree's enchanting table and anvil are placed blocks, so you can use them at the site.

The giant mushroom is the only structure here with a bed and an ender chest, so the lodestone and ender chest are worth noting for later trips. Since it appears only in Mushroom Fields and Fungal Fen, plan your trip around those biomes first.

The oak tree has the least loot of the five, so it is usually worth a visit only when you are already passing through its biome.
