AdoraBuild: Structures is a worldgen mod by Vlad and Kate Hatylo that adds about 100 new structures to the overworld, the Nether and the End. The builds include houses, temples, castles, ships and rafts, tree houses, prisons, libraries and wells. The mod adds no items, blocks or mobs: all of its additions are structures that generate with their own layouts and chests, placed by biome. Players find them by exploring, and the mod adds 22 advancements for locating particular builds.
In Fear Nightfall the structures add a large layer of ordinary buildings across every dimension. Because each build is tied to specific biomes, the mod changes what a player finds in a given biome more than it changes the biome itself. Its builds sit alongside the pack's own structures, such as Luki's Grand Capitals and Villages, and they follow the pack's placement rules (see In Fear Nightfall below).
Overview
AdoraBuild: Structures is a structure-only mod. It registers no items, blocks, mobs or effects. Its content is split into six placement groups: overworld houses and surface builds, temples and castles, floating ships and rafts, tree houses, Nether structures and End structures. Each group is a structure set with a placement rule and a list of weighted builds. The overworld houses are limited to biomes listed in the mod's own biome tags, so each build appears in the terrain it was designed for.
The mod's builds are not themed as horror. The basalt chambers include spawner and trap pieces. For the pack's horror mobs and biomes, see Horror and Spooky Content.
Content
The mod's content is grouped by placement set. Each group has its own wiki page with the full list of builds.
- Houses: small, medium and large houses in each wood type and sand type, plus frozen huts, a large mushroom build, beehive, well and campfire builds. The overworld house builds are described on AdoraBuild Houses.
- Temples and castles: desert and red sand temples, sand castles, a sand pyramid, an underground castle, ocean temples and ocean bubbles. See AdoraBuild Temples and Castles. Ocean builds keep clear of vanilla ocean monuments (see Mechanics).
- Ships and rafts: oak, spruce, dark oak, jungle, cherry, bamboo and mangrove vessels that float in open water. See AdoraBuild Ships and Rafts.
- Trees and tree houses: oak, birch, cherry, jungle and mangrove tree builds, plus tree houses in jungle and mangrove trees. See AdoraBuild Trees and Tree Houses.
- Nether structures: basalt chambers, blackstone bastions, Nether fortress variants, Nether fossils, a blackstone temple, a Nether temple, a small Nether portal, and crimson and warped houses. See AdoraBuild Nether Structures.
- End structures: ancient palaces, end gateways, end bubbles, end houses, an end temple and an end ship. See AdoraBuild End Structures.
The prison and library builds are placed in a separate, rarer overworld set.
Mechanics
Biome-restricted placement. Each overworld house build generates only in the biome tags the mod ships. The house tags cover the vanilla biome families (oak houses in plains, forests and meadows; sand houses in deserts; mangrove houses in mangrove swamps) and a long list of modded biomes from Terralith, Biomes O' Plenty and Regions Unexplored, along with other biome packs such as Wythers and Biomes We've Gone. The Nether and End tags follow the same pattern with their own modded biomes, such as the Betterend and Incendium biomes.
Placement sets. Each group has its own structure set with a random-spread placement. The overworld is split into several sets with different rarity: a common set of houses, a rarer set of cherry houses and a large mushroom build, and a rare set of wells, trees, desert temples, sand castles, a pyramid, a mansion and an underground castle. Libraries and prisons form an epic set. Floating ships and rafts use a set of their own, and the Nether and End each have one.
Ocean builds. The ocean structure set generates in the ocean biomes covered by the mod's ocean biome tags. Its placement rule excludes a four-chunk zone around vanilla ocean monuments, so an ocean temple does not generate right next to a monument.
Loot. The mod ships three loot tables of its own: a beehive chest table, a food chest table and a bucket table. The beehive and food tables are chest tables with several rolls and bonus rolls. The bucket table is an advancement reward that gives a bucket. Chest contents are otherwise defined by each build. For how chests are found and opened in the pack, see Loot and Chests.
Advancements. The mod adds 22 advancements in three groups: overworld, the Nether and the End. They reward locating particular builds, such as a large library, the hidden basalt chambers, or a large End beacon. The full list is in the advancements section below and on Advancements.
Finding structures. Builds are located with the game's normal structure search. Finding Structures and Biomes explains how to find a build by its type and biome.
Changes to vanilla
The mod does not change vanilla content. It registers only under its own namespace and does not replace or edit any vanilla structure, biome tag, loot table or advancement. Its structures appear alongside the vanilla ones, so a player can find an AdoraBuild temple and a vanilla desert temple in the same biome.
The only interaction with vanilla placement is the ocean exclusion zone described above, which keeps ocean temples away from vanilla ocean monuments.
In Fear Nightfall
The pack keeps AdoraBuild: Structures as a source of about 100 builds across the three dimensions. Its builds are subject to the structure density and overlap rules that the pack applies to all surface structures (see Structures). In particular:
- Each structure set has its own placement salt, so the mod's placements do not line up with those of other mods.
- The surface overlap guard applies to these builds. If a bigger structure from another set would overlap one of them, the smaller build is skipped.
- Other surface structures, including these builds, keep a six-chunk buffer around village spots.
