The Flower Fields is a plains biome added by Regions Unexplored. It is an open, warm, rainy grassland covered in small and tall flower patches, with ores and horror mobs in the same ground. In Fear Nightfall it is one of the less common flower biomes, so it is worth a visit for its flowers and as a route through the open country around it, but it is not a safe place to camp at night.
Description
The Flower Fields has a temperature of 0.975 and a downfall of 0.8, so it rains here and the biome is warm. Its grass is a saturated green (#73c94b) and its foliage is a deeper green (#5db743). Water is the standard blue (#3f76e4), the fog is pale blue (#c0d8ff) and the sky is a clear blue (#76a8ff). The underwater fog is a very dark navy, so water looks much darker below the surface.
The ground is grass with few trees. The open ground is covered by patches of short grass and the mod's small and tall flowers, with single asters placed among them. Sugar cane and pumpkin patches are placed here too, along with glow lichen and mushrooms. The biome plays the vanilla flower forest music and the cave ambience sound.
Generation
The Flower Fields is a Regions Unexplored biome that partly replaces the vanilla Sunflower Plains and Flower Forest biomes. It has a weight of 30 there, against 50 for the Orchard and 70 for Poppy Fields, so it is the least common of the three flower-themed biomes that the mod places in the same areas.
In Fear Nightfall the biome makes up about 0.23% of the land surface and about 0.02% of the cave layer at y = -30. Its share is set by the pack's custom biome table, which divides each climate cell among the eligible biomes by weight. The Flower Fields is not one of the pack's 6× horror-weighted biomes, so its horror content comes from its monster table and from the horror structures that can generate in it, not from extra biome weight.
Its vanilla tags make it a plains biome for mods and datapacks that check for plains. It also carries the vanilla tag that biases stronghold placement toward the biome, so strongholds are more likely to be found near Flower Fields than in most other biomes.
Features
The biome has the full overworld ore set: coal, copper, iron, gold, redstone, lapis, andesite, diorite, granite, tuff, gravel and dirt. Diamond ore is placed at the standard, buried, medium and large sizes, and the iron and gold features include the lower bands. Born in Chaos adds black argillite and infected diamond ore, Iron's Spellbooks adds mithril ore, and Butchery adds sulfur ore and salt discs.
The flower decoration is the main feature of the biome. It includes the mod's small flower patches, tall flower patches, short grass patches and single aster plants. Asters are the flower with the most useful effect: a suspicious stew made from an aster gives Nausea for 10 seconds.
Other features include vanilla lava lakes below and at the surface, amethyst geodes, monster rooms and deep monster rooms, water and lava springs, sugar cane, pumpkin patches, glow lichen and brown and red mushrooms. The surface has a freeze layer of snow on cold ground, as in vanilla.
Mobs and structures
The monster table is led by the vanilla Spider, Skeleton, Creeper, Slime and Zombie, all at high weights. The horror monsters added by the pack are mixed in. The Necromancer and Decaying Zombie are the most frequent of them, while Dread Hound, Dark Vortex and Bloody Gadfly appear less often. Slime Golems also spawn here.
The passive animals are the usual farm set: sheep, pigs, chickens, cows, horses, ferrets and donkeys. Bats and ladybugs are the ambient mobs. Glow squid spawn in underground water, and several freshwater fish spawn in the streams and ponds.
The biome can hold 185 structures. The most notable are the Dark Tower and Firewell from Born in Chaos, the Clown Caravan, and the Catacombs from Iron's Spellbooks. The tables below list the full set of mobs and structures.

Tips
- Asters are the most useful flower here. An aster stew gives Nausea for 10 seconds, so it is a short-lived effect best used before a fight you can wait out.
- The biome is open and easy to see across, so monsters can be spotted at a distance. Expect the horror monsters from the monster table at night, and build shelter before dark.
- Lava lakes and lava springs can appear underground and on the surface. Check the ground before you dig or cross open ground.
