Mycotoxic Undergrowth is a Nether biome added by Regions Unexplored. It replaces part of the vanilla Nether Wastes, so it is one of the Nether's ordinary landscapes rather than a rare find. Its colour scheme sets it apart from the red and grey of most Nether biomes: grass, foliage, water, fog and sky all use the same olive-gold tint (#a38b24). The biome is hot and dry with no precipitation. Its monster table mixes zombie-style and skeleton-style mobs with Born in Chaos creatures, and it has a small set of fish that spawn in its water.
Description
The ground is Nether netherrack and blackstone, with patches of mycotoxic grass and mycotoxic moss laid over the surface. Mycotoxic grass carries the mycotoxic daisy and mycotoxic mushrooms as ground cover. The ambient sound is the warped forest loop, and the biome emits occasional mycotoxic spore particles.
The vegetation is sparse compared with the Nether's fungal forests. The main plant feature is the Mycotoxic Undergrowth tree, which is placed four times per layer wherever mycotoxic grass will support it. Yellow bioshroom patches also appear on the ground. For the plants and their item details, see Mycotoxic Plants.
Generation
Mycotoxic Undergrowth generates in the Nether. In the mod's default configuration it takes a weight of 60 from Nether Wastes, which is the only vanilla source biome it replaces. The share of the Nether it occupies in Fear Nightfall is shown in the infobox.
The pack does not give the biome horror weighting. It is not among the biomes raised to six times the default weight, and its structures are not part of the pack's horror structure changes.
Features
- Ores and terrain: The biome's underground features are the Nether's standard set: magma, gold, quartz, blackstone, gravel and ancient debris, plus glowstone and fire patches. The biome also uses the mod's netherrack speleothems, blotted netherrack and pyroclast crusts.
- Trees: The Mycotoxic Undergrowth tree grows on mycotoxic grass, four times per layer.
- Plants: Mycotoxic grass, mycotoxic daisy and mycotoxic mushroom patches cover the surface. Yellow bioshrooms grow in separate patches.
- Nylium and moss: Mycotoxic nylium can be grown with bone meal. Mycotoxic moss is one of the surface layers the Nether surface rule places in this biome.
- Endermen: Mycotoxic grass is tagged so that Endermen can pick it up, so Endermen can carry it out of the biome.
No damage or status effect has been found for the mycotoxic plants or grass. The mod's source code applies no effects to them.
Mobs and structures
The most common monster in the biome is the Zombified Piglin, which has the largest weight in the monster table. Dread Hound and Krampus are rare. The biome's only land creature is the Strider, which has a weight of 60 in the creature table. Water creatures include Corpse Fish, Glutton Fish and a set of ambient fish such as Ash Perch, Ember Koi and Magma Mackerel.
The biome can contain 89 structures from the Nether structure mods. These include vanilla fortresses and bastion remnants, Nether Keep and Port, Nether Skeleton Towers and Camps and piglin camps. The tables below list the spawns and structures that can generate here.

Tips
- The biome is hot and has no day and night cycle, so its monsters are a threat at any time. Carry food and blocks for shelter before walking far from a known route.
- Born in Chaos monsters are limited to the Overworld in Fear Nightfall, with exceptions for two undergrowth biomes. The spawn table above shows which monsters can appear here, so check it before planning a route.
- The Nether surface rule cuts lava holes into the ground below y 32. Keep to higher ground when crossing the biome's low areas.
