The Cobalt Wood set is a full wood family added by Regions Unexplored for the cobalt region of the Nether. It covers the logs, wood blocks and planks, along with the building and redstone pieces made from planks: stairs, slabs, fences, fence gates, doors, trapdoors, pressure plates, buttons, signs and hanging signs. Its log and wood blocks are axis-rotatable, and its planks are the base material for most of the other members.

The set has no special mechanical behaviour. Its uses are structural and decorative. It is available from the start of a world because every member is craftable, and the mod adds no progression gating to it.

Obtaining

Every member of the set is obtained by crafting from cobalt logs. The recipes are listed in the grids below.

• Four cobalt logs make three cobalt wood.
• Four stripped cobalt logs make three stripped cobalt wood.
• One cobalt log makes four cobalt planks.
• Six planks make four stairs, and three planks make six slabs.
• Four planks and two sticks make three fences.
• Four sticks and two planks make one fence gate.
• Six planks make three doors, or two trapdoors.
• Two planks make one pressure plate, and one plank makes one button.
• Six planks and one stick make three signs.
• Two chains and six stripped cobalt logs make six hanging signs.

Usage

All blocks in the set are mined with an axe. Logs and wood have a hardness of 2 and a blast resistance of 2. Stripped logs and stripped wood have a blast resistance of 3. Planks and the building pieces made from them have a hardness of 2 and a blast resistance of 3, except doors and trapdoors, which have a hardness of 3. Pressure plates and buttons have a hardness of 0.5. Signs have a hardness of 1.

Cobalt logs can be stripped with an axe. Stripped cobalt logs are required for hanging signs, so a stripped log is needed before the hanging sign recipe can be made.

Items

• Cobalt Log and Cobalt Wood are the axis-rotatable log blocks. Four cobalt logs are needed for three cobalt wood.
• Stripped Cobalt Log and Stripped Cobalt Wood are the stripped forms of the logs.
• Cobalt Planks are the base building block. Stairs, slabs, fences, fence gates, doors, trapdoors, pressure plates, buttons and signs are made from them.
• Cobalt Sign and Cobalt Hanging Sign are text and decoration blocks. The hanging sign is the only member that requires stripped logs.
