The Brimwood is a wood set added by Regions Unexplored for the Nether. It includes logs, planks, stairs, slabs, fences, fence gates, doors, trapdoors, pressure plates, buttons, signs, hanging signs and a sapling, along with a shrub that generates on Nether plants. Brimwood trees do not generate in the world. Players grow them from saplings, and the tree's base produces a special magma log that is needed for the wood recipe below. The set is most useful to players who spend time in the Infernal Holt biome.
Obtaining
Natural generation
Brimwood Shrubs generate naturally in the Infernal Holt biome. The shrub is the only Brimwood block that generates on its own. It is placed on Brimsprout plants in the Nether.
Brimwood trees do not generate naturally. The Brimwood Sapling grows into one of two tree variants.
- The standard tree has a trunk with a height roll of 8 to 11 blocks, topped with branches and leaves.
- The tall variant has a trunk with a height roll of 13 to 15 blocks, with roots placed near the base.
Both variants grow only on blocks that the sapling can survive on: dirt and nylium blocks, including nylium and Brimsprout Nylium.
The lowest blocks of each trunk are magma logs. The standard tree places 3 magma logs at its base, and the tall variant places 4. The blocks above them are regular Brimwood Logs. Magma logs are needed for the Brimwood Wood recipe described below.
Crafting
The shrub and sapling recipes convert between the two. Two saplings make one shrub, and one shrub makes two saplings. A player who has a shrub can therefore turn it back into saplings for planting.
Brimwood Wood is crafted from four magma logs, which yields three blocks of wood. Stripped Brimwood Wood is crafted from four stripped Brimwood Logs. Stripping a magma log with an axe produces a stripped Brimwood Log.
Usage
Brimwood is a building wood. Its planks, stairs, slabs and fences are crafted and placed like any other wood set. The hanging sign is crafted from chains and stripped logs.
Logs and wood have a hardness of 2 and a blast resistance of 2. Stripped logs and stripped wood have a blast resistance of 3. Planks, stairs, slabs, fences, doors and trapdoors have a blast resistance of 3. Brimwood Leaves are not used in crafting. They are tempt items for several insect and snail mobs that the pack's animal mods add, and they compost at 30%.
The Brimwood Shrub is a plant rather than a wooden block. It has a hardness of 0 and composts at 65%. It survives on dirt and nylium blocks, the same ground the sapling uses.
