The Baobab Wood set is a family of 21 blocks and items added by Regions Unexplored. It covers logs, planks, stairs, slabs, fences, doors, trapdoors, signs, boats, leaves, branches, saplings and shrubs. Baobab trees grow naturally in the Baobab Savanna biome. Most blocks of the set are flammable and are harvested fastest with an axe.
None of the set's items are locked behind progression. Wood, boat and food items are all craftable from the start of a world, and the mod's advancements for the set are collection and exploration tasks only.
Obtaining
Natural generation
Baobab trees generate in the Baobab Savanna biome, which replaces the vanilla Savanna and Savanna Plateau biomes where humidity is below -0.35. The biome's trees are placed as a weighted group, with 10 placement attempts per chunk. Each attempt picks one of the following features:

Baobab trees therefore make up 3 of every 10 picks, and the ultra form is half as likely as the mega form. Trees are placed only where the surface has no water above it.

Usage
Logs, wood and planks
The Baobab Log is a pillar block with an axis property. It has a hardness of 2, a blast resistance of 2 and a furnace fuel value of 1.5 items. Stripping a log with an axe produces the Stripped Baobab Log, which has a blast resistance of 3. Four logs craft into three Baobab Wood blocks, and four stripped logs craft into three Stripped Baobab Wood blocks. One log crafts into four Baobab Planks, which are the base ingredient for most other items in the set.
Leaves, branches and saplings
The Baobab Leaves block has a hardness of 0.2 and a blast resistance of 0.2. It uses the hoe as its harvesting tool. Its item tags include the vanilla leaves tag and the food tags that feed stick bugs, leaf insects and snails in Critters and Companions. The leaves also carry the Hexerei herbs tag.
The Baobab Branch is a thin decorative block that attaches to the side of a full, solid block with the branch-support tag. A branch cannot be placed on leaves or in open air, because the block it attaches to must have a full collision shape. Branches have a hardness of 1 and a blast resistance of 1.5. A log and a stick craft into two branches.
The Baobab Sapling grows in two stages:
- Each random tick, when the block above has a light level of at least 9, has a 1 in 7 chance to advance the sapling from stage 0 to stage 1.
- The next successful random tick at stage 1 grows a baobab tree at the sapling's position.
- Bone meal can be used on any sapling of the set. Each use has a 45% chance to succeed, and a successful use grows the sapling by one step in the same way as a random tick.
Shrubs
The Baobab Shrub is a two-block-high plant that can be placed only on blocks with the shrub-support tag. Two baobab saplings craft into one shrub, and one shrub crafts back into two saplings. The shrub has a hardness of 0 and a compost chance of 65%, which is higher than any other plant item in the set.
Boats
The Baobab Boat is crafted from five planks. The Baobab Boat with Chest is crafted by combining a chest with a baobab boat. Both boats are unstackable and have a furnace fuel value of 6 items. The baobab boat is also the base for the cannon boat recipe.
Signs and hanging signs
The Baobab Sign is crafted from six planks and a stick, which yields three signs. It has a fuel value of 1 item. A sign is also an ingredient for way signs.
The Baobab Hanging Sign is crafted from two chains and six stripped baobab logs, which yields six hanging signs. It has a fuel value of 4 items.
Stairs, slabs, fences and redstone parts
- Baobab Stairs are crafted from six planks and yield four stairs per craft. Baobab Slab is crafted from three planks and yields six slabs per craft.
- Baobab Fence and Baobab Fence Gate use the standard fence behaviour. Both carry the wooden fence and fence gate tags.
- Baobab Door and Baobab Trapdoor have a hardness of 3 and a blast resistance of 3. Each is crafted from six planks.
- Baobab Pressure Plate and Baobab Button have a hardness of 0.5 and a blast resistance of 0.5. The pressure plate is crafted from two planks, and the button from one plank.
