The Glistering Meadow is a Nether biome added by Regions Unexplored. It is a hot, dry biome with magenta foliage and a violet sky and fog. Its ground is glistering nylium, and its plants include magenta sprouts, blooms, ferns and hanging ivy. It has no precipitation, its monster spawns include Ghasts, Hoglins and Endermen, and Striders are the most common creature in the biome.
Description
The biome's ground is glistering nylium, a mushroom-grow block that the Nether surface rule lays over netherrack. The surface rule also adds blackstone and gravel layers, and the same rule applies to every Nether biome in the dimension, not only the mod's own biomes. The foliage, grass and water colour are all the same magenta (#b8009d). The fog and sky colour is a deep violet (#420c68). The biome uses the Crimson Forest ambient and additions sounds with the Warped Forest mood sound, and the Nether Cave carver.
Vegetation is made of several small plants that grow on the nylium floor and on the netherrack roof:
- Glistering sprout and glistering fern are low ground plants.
- Glistering bloom is a flower that can be crafted into pink dye (see Glistering Blocks).
- Glister bulb and glister spire are taller plants that stand on the floor.
- Glistering ivy hangs from netherrack ceilings. Its placement also puts glistering wart blocks on the roof around it.
The glistering meadow rock is a rock formation that appears in the biome's underground decoration stage.
Bonemeal behaves differently in this biome. Bonemeal used on glistering nylium spreads glistering sprouts (weight 4) and glistering blooms (weight 1) across the nearby ground. Bonemeal used on netherrack next to a mod nylium block copies that nylium onto the netherrack, with a 50% chance of a second copy when more than one nylium block touches it.
Generation
The biome uses the Nether's is_nether tag and the mod's all_nether tag, and it is a hot, dry biome (temperature 2, downfall 0, no precipitation). The mod takes part of four vanilla Nether source biomes (Nether Wastes, Soul Sand Valley, Crimson Forest and Basalt Deltas), so the biome is one of several Nether biomes that generate in those areas. The mod's other Nether biomes include Blackstone Basin and Inferno. The structure table below lists the structures that can generate in the biome.
The biome has no horror weighting in Fear Nightfall. It is not one of the biomes the pack raises to 6× weight. Being in the Nether, the biome has no day and night cycle.
Features
The biome adds its plants and rock formations to the underground decoration stage. The vanilla Nether ores (ancient debris, blackstone, gold, magma, quartz and gravel) are also present. Some of the plants are placed in large numbers:
- Glistering bloom is placed in patches of 7 per layer.
- Glistering ivy is attempted 155 times per chunk, on any netherrack roof within the Nether height range.
The mod's source shows no damage or status effect for these plants. Endermen can pick up glistering nylium and the glistering plants, because the blocks are in the enderman_holdable tag.
Mobs and structures
The monster spawns are Ghasts and Hoglins, with lower weights for Enderman and Mutant Enderman from Mutant Monsters. Striders are the most common creature. The water ambient spawns are the fish listed in the table below.
Structures come mostly from other mods' Nether sets, including Moog's Nether structures, Nether Keep and Port, Nether Skeleton Towers and Camps, Piglin Outposts and Better Nether Fortress. The structure table below gives the full set.

Tips
- The biome is in the Nether, so there is no sky light. Carry torches or another light source.
- Bonemeal on glistering nylium fills the floor with sprouts and blooms, and the blooms make pink dye.
- Glistering ivy grows from the netherrack roof, so the ceiling is part of the biome's terrain as well as its floor.
