The Moog's Nether Landmarks are nine large surface structures in the Nether, added by Moog's Nether Structures. They are the set of single landmarks that stand apart from the mod's smaller Nether builds such as Moog's Nether Houses and Wells, Moog's Nether Arenas, Moog's Nether Bridges and Moog's Nether Ruins. The set includes the Mega Fortress, the Nether Tower, the Copper Tower, the Giant Skull, the Sandy Skull, the Train, the Sword, the Crimson Forge and the Ruined Portal. The Mega Fortress is the largest of them and the only one with interior rooms that contain mobs, while the Sandy Skull and the Giant Skull are horror structures that the pack places closer together than the rest of the set.
Generation
All nine landmarks generate in the Nether during the surface structures step. Each uses the mod's spread-based placement with a biome tag, so they are placed at a fixed average spacing and then offset randomly within each spacing cell. The spacing and separation values are in the placement table below.
Most landmarks use the broad Nether biome tag and can appear in nearly every Nether biome, including the Nether Wastes, Soul Sand Valley, Basalt Deltas and the Crimson Forest. Two are restricted:
- The Sword and the Crimson Forge only generate in the four crimson biomes: Crimson Forest, Undergrowth, Visceral Heap and Infernal Holt.
- The Giant Skull only generates in three biomes: Nether Wastes, Crystalline Chasm and Erupting Inferno.
The Sandy Skull and the Giant Skull are horror structures under the pack's horror placement rule, which places them about 30% closer together than default. The Sandy Skull has the smallest spacing of the group, so it is the landmark most likely to be found. The pack's Sparse Structures setting thins out non-horror structures, so the landmarks are rarer than in an unmodified install. In a 26 km² sample taken from the server, no landmark was observed, so a player should expect to travel a long way between them.
The Mega Fortress has the widest spacing of the set, followed closely by the Nether Tower.
Layout
Eight of the nine landmarks are built from a single template. Their jigsaw depth is 1, so each is one piece without branching corridors.
The Mega Fortress is the exception. Its jigsaw depth is 128, and it is built from seven templates. Its chest loot tables are named for room types: an intact library, a brewing room, a TNT room, and intact and gold treasure rooms, along with ravaged variants of the same rooms. Expect the fortress to be a connected complex of rooms rather than a single building.
Inhabitants
The Mega Fortress is the only landmark with mobs. Its templates contain blazes, skeletons, wither skeletons and zombified piglins. Its spawn rule adds five monsters that spawn within each piece's bounding box, with the following weights and group sizes:

Weight is relative to the other entries in the list. Blazes have the highest weight, and wither skeletons have the second highest, so a player who fights through a room should expect wither-skeleton groups alongside the blazes. The other eight landmarks place no mobs in their templates and spawn no mobs of their own.
Loot
Chest loot is shown in the generated tables below. The Mega Fortress has the strongest loot in the group. Its intact treasure table lists Ancient Debris at 57% and Netherite Ingot at 50%, and its gold treasure table lists Block of Gold at 70% and Golden Apple at 50%. The brewing room table is the source of the fortress's blaze powder, glass bottles and nether wart.
The Nether Tower has a treasure table that lists Smithing Template at 100%, along with Ancient Debris and Netherite Ingot. The Copper Tower, the Giant Skull and the Sandy Skull share the uncommon chest table, and the Crimson Forge and the Nether Tower share the houses table. Arcane Essence appears in almost every table at between 70% and 78%.
The Ruined Portal, the Sword and the Train have no chest loot.

Tips
Approach the Mega Fortress with fire resistance, because blazes and magma cubes are the most common fire threats in its rooms. Clear the rooms one at a time, and plan for the wither-skeleton groups, which are the largest in the fortress by weight after the blazes. The treasure rooms hold the most valuable chest loot, so save time for them.
The Sandy Skull has the smallest spacing of the group, so it is the easiest landmark to find by searching across the Nether. For the Sword and the Crimson Forge, search only the crimson biomes. The Giant Skull only generates in the Nether Wastes, Crystalline Chasm and Erupting Inferno, so use those biomes when you search for it.
