Temperate Grove (Removed) is a retired temperate forest biome added by Regions Unexplored. It is one of the mod's fourteen removed biomes. The biome is registered and its terrain, colours and mob tables are complete, but it is not placed in the Fear Nightfall overworld, so a player cannot find it through normal exploration. The tables below describe what it would contain if it were enabled.
Description
Temperate Grove has a temperature of 0.725 and a downfall of 0.6, and it rains rather than snows. Its grass is a sage green (#80aa6c) and its foliage a deeper green (#6ba44f). The water is blue (#3f76e4), the fog pale blue (#c0d8ff) and the sky a clear blue (#78a7ff).
The terrain uses the same feature set as the Windswept Maple Forest biome of the mod. Its trees are maple tree groups with fallen maple logs on the forest floor. Shrubs, sparse short grass and forest flower patches fill the space between the trunks, and purple coneflowers grow among them. Rock groups from the same forest set are also placed.
Generation
Temperate Grove is not in the overworld biome table of Fear Nightfall, so it takes no share of the overworld and does not generate in a standard world. The mod hides removed biomes from the world-creation biome list and does not place them by default. Vanilla structure tags and Regions Unexplored surface rules still name the biome, but those references have no effect while the biome is not placed.
Enabling the biome would require changing the mod's biome placement configuration. The pack does not make that change, and the result of doing so has not been tested.
Features
- Trees: Windswept Maple Forest tree groups, with fallen maple logs on the ground.
- Shrubs and ground cover: Windswept Maple Forest shrub and rock groups, sparse short grass and purple coneflowers.
- Flowers and plants: forest flower patches, wild carrots and wild onions from Farmer's Delight, pumpkin patches, sugar cane and wild flax from Supplementaries.
- Special blocks: cave urns from Supplementaries and silk cocoons, both on the ground and hanging from branches, from Critters and Companions. The Stonycliffs cliff feature is also placed.
- Ores: the standard overworld ore placements from vanilla, including diamond, coal, copper, iron, gold, lapis, redstone and the andesite, diorite, granite, gravel and tuff layers. Born in Chaos adds infected diamond ore and black argillite, Butchery adds sulfur ore and Iron's Spells 'n Spellbooks adds mithril ore.
Mobs and structures
The generated tables below give the spawn weights for each category. Spiders, skeletons, creepers and slimes share the highest monster weight of 100. Zombies follow at 95. The horror mobs have the next-highest weights, led by Slime Golems (weight 25), Necromancers (18), Decaying Zombies (15) and Zombie Fishermen (15). Dread Hounds and Krampus appear with lower weights. Passive spawns are led by Crows (weight 20). Ambient spawns include Ladybugs and Leaf Insects. The water tables contain fish, Corpse Fish and glow squid.
The structure table lists every structure that could generate in the biome. These include vanilla-style houses and camps, towers and ruins from several pack mods, and horror sites such as catacombs, dark towers, a firewell, graveyards and gallows. Illager camps and hideouts are also on the list. Because the biome is not placed, none of these structures generates in a normal world.

Tips
- Do not plan a trip to find Temperate Grove in a standard Fear Nightfall world. Its spawn tables describe what the biome would contain if it were enabled.
- For a live biome with a similar maple forest character, see Maple Forest.
- If the biome is ever enabled, treat it as a night-time horror biome. Slime Golems, Necromancers and Dread Hounds are among the most likely horror spawns, so bring a ranged weapon and light the area before dark.
