Mountains (Regions Unexplored) is a retired biome added by the Regions Unexplored mod. Its in-game name is Mountains (Removed). The mod registers it but does not place it by default; it is one of 14 retired biomes in the mod, alongside Mauve Hills (Removed) and Barley Fields (Removed). In Fear Nightfall the biome never generates naturally: the pack's overworld biome table does not include it, so no chunk is assigned to it.
The biome remains in the game data, so commands and datapacks can still place it. Its definition shows how the mod built its mountain terrain: a goat-based creature spawn, pine-type trees, and a surface that turns to snow at higher altitude.
Description
The fog is pale blue (#c0d8ff) and the sky tint is #7ca4ff. Grass is #84a75a and foliage is #758646, a dark olive green. The biome plays the Jagged Peaks music track.
The surface uses dirt, with calcite patches where a noise threshold matches. Snow blocks cover the surface above Y 186, so the highest parts of the terrain are white.
Generation
The biome is defined with a temperature of 0.25 and a downfall of 0.6, and it rains there.
In Fear Nightfall the biome is left out of the overworld biome table, so the terrain generator never selects it. The mod also hides retired biomes from the create-world biome list, so players cannot pick it there.
Features
Mountains has the mod's mountain vegetation: pine trees from the mountain tree group, fallen pine trunks laid on dirt, a shrub patch unique to the biome, ferns, and short grass.
Under the surface, the biome uses the default vanilla ore set, extra emerald ores, and infested stone. Ore features added by other mods in the pack are placed on top of these.
Mobs and structures
The table below lists the mobs and structures the biome's definition allows. The biome's creature spawn is the goat (weight 5, group size 1 to 3). Its monster list is the standard hostile set (spider, skeleton, creeper, slime and zombie, weighted near 100), followed by Fear Nightfall horror mobs such as the Dread Hound (weight 7), the Nightmare Stalker (weight 2) and the Krampus (weight 1). Bats spawn as ambient mobs and glow squids spawn underground in water.
Structures in the table can only generate where their biome tags match. Because the biome is not placed by the pack, none of them generate here naturally in a Fear Nightfall world.

Tips
- Mountains is not a biome to plan around in Fear Nightfall. A player who wants mountain terrain should look for the biomes that the pack does generate.
- The horror mobs in the table are only part of the biome's definition. They appear on this biome only where it is placed, for example through a command or a datapack.
