Evil Pumpkins and Fel Lamps is a group of pumpkin blocks and lamp items added by Born in Chaos. It has four pumpkin block lines: the Cultivated Pumpkin, the Evil Carved Pumpkin and its lit forms (the Flaming Evil Pumpkin and the Infernal Evil Pumpkin), and the Rotten Infernal Pumpkin. It also has the Fel Lamp, an item that summons a mount called the Felsteed. The pumpkins are decorative and light sources, and one of them is tied to a horror boss. The Infernal Evil Pumpkin has a second variant that summons Sir Pumpkinhead when a player breaks it.

Obtaining

The Evil Carved Pumpkin has no recipe or drop listed in the pack data and is used only as an input for the lit pumpkins. The other pumpkins, the Rotten Infernal Pumpkin and the Fel Lamp come from crafting or from mob drops.

Crafting

Crafting follows a chain. A Cultivated Pumpkin is made from a pumpkin and bone meal. An Evil Carved Pumpkin and a candle make a Flaming Evil Pumpkin. An Infernal Evil Pumpkin is made either from a Flaming Evil Pumpkin and a Smoldering Infernal Ember, or from an Evil Carved Pumpkin, a Smoldering Infernal Ember and a candle. The Rotten Infernal Pumpkin is made from an Infernal Evil Pumpkin and rotten flesh. The Fel Lamp is made by combining an Ethereal Spirit, an Empty Fel Lamp and an Orb of the Summoner.

Cultivated Pumpkins appear in chests in the Clown Caravan structures, which are placed in plains, savanna and taiga. They appear in 24.7% of chests, with an average of 2.2 per chest. Flaming Evil Pumpkins drop from a Seared Spirit at a random count of 0 to 1, and the persistent Seared Spirit variant always drops one. An Infernal Spirit always drops one Infernal Evil Pumpkin. A Pumpkinhead drops one Fel Lamp, and a Pumpkin Bruiser drops one Rotten Infernal Pumpkin.

Usage

The pumpkins are mostly decorative, but they differ in how they handle light. The Cultivated Pumpkin and the Evil Carved Pumpkin block light fully, with a light-blocking value of 15. The Flaming Evil Pumpkin emits light level 12, and the Infernal Evil Pumpkin and the Rotten Infernal Pumpkin emit light level 13. The three lit pumpkins do not block light, and skylight passes through them. All pumpkin blocks have a hardness of 1 and a blast resistance of 1, and they can be harvested with any tool. The Rotten Infernal Pumpkin is the exception, as it is best harvested with an axe. It can also be waterlogged, unlike the other pumpkin blocks.

Cultivated Pumpkin

The Cultivated Pumpkin is the main crafting input in this group. It is used in five recipes, including the Sweet Sword and Sweet Axe, Pumpkin Seeds, Pumpkin Pie and Pumpkin Bullet. Its light level is the same as the Evil Carved Pumpkin, so it blocks light, and it can be used as a building block for decoration.

Infernal Evil Pumpkin

The Infernal Evil Pumpkin is the most important pumpkin in the group, as it is the input for the Rotten Infernal Pumpkin. Its second variant, which has no recipe, is placed in the world. When a player breaks it, it plays the wither spawn sound, produces particles, and summons Sir Pumpkinhead at the block's position.

Fel Lamp and Felsteed

Right-clicking a block with a Fel Lamp summons a Felsteed on the block above it. The use is blocked in three cases. The player must be holding the Fel Lamp in the main hand. The player must not have the Magic Depletion effect. The two blocks above the clicked block must not be solid. Using the lamp consumes it and gives the player an Empty Fel Lamp. A 30-tick cooldown is then applied to the Empty Fel Lamp. The Felsteed is a rideable mount.

A Felsteed can be used in two ways. Right-clicking it with an Ethereal Spirit gives it Speed III for 2400 ticks, which is two minutes. This only works if the mount does not already have a movement speed effect, and the Ethereal Spirit has a 20-tick cooldown. Right-clicking it with an Empty Fel Lamp while sneaking removes the Felsteed and consumes the lamp.

Both lamps are rare, cannot stack, and are fire resistant.
