Born in Chaos Glass is the set of decorative stained glass blocks and glass panes added by Born in Chaos. It has five ornate colour variants (dark, purple, orange, green and scarlet), each with a matching pane, plus the Cursed Scarlet Ornate Glass Pane, a hazardous pane that is the only member of the set with any effect on the player.
The ornate glass is a building material. It is crafted from vanilla stained glass, Fired Black Argillite and black or gray stained glass, and it is not placed in the world by the mod's worldgen. The Cursed pane is not craftable and drops nothing when broken.
Obtaining
The ornate glass blocks and panes are not part of the mod's worldgen list, so they are not found in generated structures or biomes. The only way to obtain the four coloured ornate sets and their panes is crafting.
Crafting
Each ornate block recipe is a shaped 3×3 grid. It uses 5 stained glass blocks of the variant's colour (plain glass for the dark variant), 2 Fired Black Argillite and 2 black stained glass (gray for the dark variant), and yields 9 ornate blocks. Each pane recipe takes 6 ornate blocks and yields 16 panes.
The Cursed Scarlet Ornate Glass Pane has no crafting recipe in the mod's data, and its loot table has no entries, so breaking it drops nothing.
Usage
The ornate blocks are decorative and have no functional use. Each has hardness 1, blast resistance 1, can be mined with any tool, and stacks to 64. Light passes through the scarlet variant and the Cursed pane, which both report no light blocking. The scarlet block also lets skylight pass straight down and does not render faces shared with adjacent scarlet blocks, so long runs read as continuous panels.
Cursed Scarlet Ornate Glass Pane
The Cursed pane is a pickaxe-mined block with hardness 25 and blast resistance 1000. It is built on the iron bars pane class. It is the only glass block in the set that triggers effects, and both effects apply only in Survival mode:
- Starting to break it: when a player with a pickaxe in the main hand begins mining the pane, the player receives Mining Fatigue III for 50 seconds (1000 ticks). This is skipped if the player already has Mining Fatigue. Other tools do not trigger it.
- Breaking it: when a player breaks the pane, the player receives Mining Fatigue III for 80 seconds (1600 ticks). This applies whatever tool was used.
Both effects play the Elder Guardian curse sound at the pane. The break effect also shows the mod's item activation overlay on the player's screen. The start-mining effect does not renew while the player still has Mining Fatigue, so mining the pane continues without reapplying it.
The pane has no effect on a player who only walks past it.
