The Lord Pumpkinhead is a boss-class hostile mob added by Born in Chaos. It has 666 health in its base form, which is summoned from an Infernal Evil Pumpkin. Its on-foot form is replaced by a ranged head form when its health falls below 20. The head form is the stage that drops the boss-only loot and awards the boss advancement to the player who kills it. The boss has no natural spawns and is not placed in any structure, so a player has to summon it.
Spawning
The Lord Pumpkinhead has no natural biome spawn entries, and Born in Chaos does not place it in any structure. Its appearances come from a summon and from a transformation during the fight.
The base form is summoned by using a Transmuting Elixir on an Infernal Evil Pumpkin block. The block is removed, the elixir is consumed, and the base form appears at the block's position with a random facing. Infernal Evil Pumpkins are covered on Evil Pumpkins and Fel Lamps.
The head form is not summoned by a player. It appears when the on-foot form's health falls below 20, as described under Behavior.
Does not spawn naturally in any biome (see Obtaining/Spawning text).
Behavior
All three forms are fire immune. The head form also resists explosions and never despawns from distance.
Base form
The base form has 666 health, 13 attack damage, 20 armor, a movement speed of 0.36 and a follow range of 26 blocks. Whenever it is struck while its health is above 40, it gains Damage Resistance II for 5 seconds and the Block Break effect for 7 seconds. Each strike then has a 55% chance to spawn a Pumpkin Bomb at its position.
On-foot form
The on-foot form has 400 health, 6 attack damage, 13 armor, a movement speed of 0.27 and a follow range of 26 blocks. Its tick logic turns the fight over to the next stage. When its health drops below 20, it is removed and replaced at its position by Lord The Headless and by the head form.
Head form
The head form has 200 health, 6 attack damage, 9 armor, a movement speed of 0.33 and a follow range of 36 blocks. It gives 3000 experience when it dies. It is the ranged stage: it fires Pumpkin Pistol projectiles at a target within 20 blocks, with a 25-tick interval between shots. Its boss bar is green.
Each time the head form is struck while its health is at least 30, it gives itself Damage Resistance II for 1.5 seconds, the Block Break effect for 2 seconds and Glowing for 20 seconds. Each strike then has a 35% chance to spawn a Pumpkin Bomb. It also has a 60% chance to teleport about 13 blocks along a horizontal axis, if the destination is clear.
Every tick, the head form turns the water, lava, kelp and seagrass beneath it into Fel Soil. If it is inside a wall or lava, it teleports itself out.
When the head form dies, rain and thunder are stopped, and the player who killed it is awarded the boss advancement.
Immunities
All three forms are fire immune. The head form is also immune to fall, cactus, drowning, lightning, and explosion damage.
Fear Nightfall changes one interaction. Tide's Pocket Watch normally freezes bosses, but Lord Pumpkinhead is on the pack's immune list, so the watch has no effect on it.
Drops
The head form is the stage that drops loot. Its loot table includes the Soulbane weapon, a Pumpkin Pistol, Pumpkin Bullets, Magical Holiday Candy, Bags of Candy and Smoldering Infernal Embers, with the counts shown in the table below. The Lord Pumpkinhead's Hat is dropped every time. The Lord Pumpkinhead's Lamp is a chance drop, and its rate is shown in the table below.

Lord Pumpkinhead's Lamp is an Epic-rarity item that is not stackable and is fire resistant. It is crafted from an Ethereal Spirit, Lord Pumpkinhead's Empty Lamp and an Orb of the Summoner. Right-clicking a block with the lamp summons a Felsteed (a rideable mount) at that block, provided the two blocks above it are not solid. The lamp is consumed and an empty lamp is returned to the player's hand. The use is blocked while the player has the Magic Depletion effect.
Lord Pumpkinhead's Empty Lamp is the same Epic-rarity item without the spirit. It is the lamp's base ingredient, and the empty lamp is what the summon returns.
Lord Pumpkinhead's Hat is a helmet with 3300 durability that is not stackable and is fire resistant. It enhances pumpkin weapons, makes the wearer immune to fire and soul stratification, and sets attackers on fire with infernal fire. It belongs to the armor and hats listed on Born in Chaos Armor and Hats.
Four spawn eggs exist for the base form, the on-foot form, the head form and Lord The Headless.
Tips
The head form stays at range and fires, so bring a ranged weapon or be ready to close the distance quickly. After each hit it has a 60% chance to teleport about 13 blocks, which can pull it out of melee reach mid-fight.
The head form turns water and lava under itself into Fel Soil as it moves, so a fight near a pond or lava pool can change the ground beneath it.
Pumpkin Bombs spawn at the boss's own position when it is struck, so the ground right around the base form is the area to keep clear while its health is above 40.
The Lord Pumpkinhead's Hat gives fire immunity and sets attackers on fire, which makes it the most useful item to have for this fight.
