Cutting Boards are workstation blocks added by two mods. The Cutting Board from Farmer's Delight processes food, logs, pumpkins and cakes with a matching tool, and it is the core of that mod's cooking chain: the knife-cut ingredients it produces feed into Cooking Pot meals. The oak, spruce, birch, jungle, acacia, dark oak, mangrove, cherry, crimson and warped cutting boards from Refurbished Furniture are kitchen blocks that slice items with a knife and combine several ingredients into a new item, which makes them the source of several bread, pizza and dye recipes.
The Farmer's Delight board is the one a player needs early. The Refurbished boards are a separate set of recipes, one per wood type, and all of them behave the same way. Both sets are listed in the table at the bottom of this page.
Obtaining
The Farmer's Delight Cutting Board is made in a crafting grid from 2 sticks and 4 oak planks, and the recipe accepts alternative plank and stick ingredients. Each Refurbished board is made at a workbench from 2 planks of its wood type.

Farmer's Delight Cutting Board
The board holds one stack of items in a single slot, up to 64 items at a time. Right-clicking the board with an empty hand moves the whole stored stack to the player's inventory. Right-clicking it with an item in hand stores that item, so any item can be placed on the board. A cut only happens when the held tool matches a cutting recipe for the stored item. If the tool does not match, the action bar shows a hint that the item or tool cannot be cut.
Each successful cut consumes one item from the stack and damages the tool by 1 durability. Results are rolled once per use and spawned as item entities beside the board. Each item of a chance-based output is rolled separately. The chance is raised by cuttingBoardFortuneBonus (default 0.1, range 0 to 1) for each level of Fortune on the tool. Fortune does not change recipes with a fixed output.
Recipes require one of these tool types:
- Knives (the
c:tools/knifetag, see Knives) forknife_digrecipes. Pumpkins give 4 Pumpkin Slices, and beef gives 2 Minced Beef. - Axes (the
minecraft:axestag) foraxe_striprecipes. An oak log gives a stripped log and 1 Tree Bark. The same kind of recipe covers the other vanilla log types, wood blocks and bamboo blocks. - Shears for
shears_carverecipes.
The board also slices cake, pie and candle cake recipes. Sound and particles depend on the recipe. Knife recipes use the knife chop sound, shear recipes use the sheep shear sound, and other tools use the break sound of the stored item's block, or a wood break sound for non-block items.
Carving. Sneaking and right-clicking the board with a tiered tool (sword, pickaxe, axe, shovel or hoe), a trident or shears places that tool on the board as a carved decoration. A carved board cannot process items until the tool is removed. The tool is taken back by right-clicking the board with an empty hand.
Dispensers. A dispenser placed so that a cutting board is in front of it can operate that board. It uses the items stored in its own inventory as tools, so a dispenser loaded with a knife can cut what is on the board. This behaviour is on by default and controlled by enableCuttingBoardDispenserBehavior.
Fuel. The Farmer's Delight Cutting Board works as furnace fuel.
Refurbished Furniture cutting boards
Each Refurbished board holds up to 5 ingredients, placed one at a time with right-click, and works through two recipe types.
- Slicing turns one item into another. The board needs a knife in hand (the
c:tools/knifetag), and each slice takes 1 durability from the knife. A melon yields 9 Melon Slices, and a Cooked Vegetable Pizza yields a Vegetable Pizza Slice. The slicing recipes also cover dyes from flowers and sea plants, string from cobwebs and feathers, bone meal from bone, and sticks from dead bushes and mangrove roots. When a player slices, the result drops into the world. A slice made by a dispenser leaves the result on the board. - Combining turns up to 5 ingredients into one item. The board crafts the result as soon as the ingredients on it match a combining recipe. For example, a bowl, 3 wheat and Sea Salt make Wheat Flour, and a Dough, a carrot, a beetroot, a potato and a Cheese make a Raw Vegetable Pizza. If the last ingredient was placed by a player, the result drops into the world. Otherwise it stays on the board.
Left-clicking the board removes the top ingredient, which drops into the world.
Refurbished boards have their own JEI categories for slicing and combining. Their recipes are kept out of the vanilla recipe book tabs.
Items
The Farmer's Delight board is a separate block from the Refurbished boards, and the two mods' boards do not share recipes or behaviour. Each Refurbished board has the same behaviour and recipe pattern, differing only in the wood it is made from.
