The Basket and Bamboo Basket are storage blocks added by Farmer's Delight. Each has 27 inventory slots and can pull dropped items into its open face, which makes it a practical collection point for crops and loot on a farm. Both are axe-mineable and can be waterlogged. The Basket is made from sticks, and the Bamboo Basket is the older variant made from bamboo.

The Basket was added as a wooden variant so that it could be made without bamboo, because bamboo does not reliably generate in the world. The original block was renamed Bamboo Basket and keeps its recipe. Both blocks are functionally identical.

Obtaining

Baskets are not found in chest loot, dropped by mobs or sold by villagers. They are obtained by crafting only.

Both recipes use canvas as the ingredient that is not a stick or bamboo. Salvaging a basket returns canvas (see Baskets).

Usage

A basket is opened by right-clicking it and holds 27 slots. Each slot holds up to 64 items. Breaking a basket drops its contents, and the basket itself drops as an item when it is mined with an axe.

Item collection

A basket collects items from its open face, which is the side it faces. It takes one dropped item entity at a time from the area in front of that face. The collection rate is one item every 8 ticks (0.4 seconds). A basket stops collecting when it is full, meaning every slot holds a full stack, and when it receives a redstone signal from a neighbouring block. Items are taken only from dropped item entities, so a basket does not pull from containers or other blocks in the way that a hopper does.

A basket's facing is set when it is placed, and the open face is the side it faces. Aim that face at the item source.

Salvage

A basket can be salvaged on a cutting board with an axe. The result is one canvas and one stick for the Basket, and one canvas and one bamboo for the Bamboo Basket. Salvaging is the main way to recover canvas after a basket is no longer needed.

Fuel

Both baskets are furnace fuel, each worth 1.5 items of smelting.

Pack-specific notes

• Farmer's Delight adds both baskets to the sable:light block tag, so Sable treats them as light blocks.
• The Fear Nightfall changes list does not alter baskets. Their recipes, drops and loot are the mod's defaults.
