Pet Food is a pair of items added by Farmer's Delight: Dog Food for tamed wolves and Horse Feed for tamed mounts. Each heals the animal to full health and gives it temporary speed and combat or jump buffs. Dog Food is cooked in a Cooking Pot, while Horse Feed is crafted at a crafting table. Both are used by right-clicking the animal while holding the item.

Obtaining

Dog Food is produced in a Cooking Pot and Horse Feed is produced in a crafting grid.

Usage

Dog Food

Dog Food is fed to a tamed wolf only. Feeding it sets the wolf's health to its maximum and applies three effects for 5 minutes (6000 ticks):

• Speed I
• Strength I
• Resistance I

Dog Food is also a regular food item. It restores 4 hunger points and 1.6 saturation, and it stacks to 16. Feeding a wolf consumes one Dog Food and, outside creative mode, returns an empty bowl to the player's inventory, because the item uses the bowl as its crafting remainder. Untamed wolves are not healed by the item.

Horse Feed

Horse Feed is fed to a tamed horse-type mount. The valid targets are horses, donkeys, mules, skeleton horses, zombie horses and llamas. Pigs and striders are excluded. Feeding it sets the animal's health to its maximum and applies two effects for 5 minutes (6000 ticks):

• Speed II
• Jump Boost I

Horse Feed is not edible by players. It stacks to 16 and is consumed by one item per feeding, unless the player is in creative mode. Its recipe uses a hay bale or a Rice bale, two apples and a golden carrot.

Both items show their effects in the item tooltip when the mod's food effect tooltip option is enabled.
