The Soups and Stews are a group of nine meals added by Farmer's Delight. Each is cooked in the Cooking Pot from raw ingredients and served in a bowl. All of them are stackable to 16 and grant the Nourishment effect when eaten. Bone Broth is the lightest of the group, and Pumpkin Soup, Baked Cod Stew and Noodle Soup are the most filling.
Obtaining
The soups are not found in the world or dropped by mobs. They are made by cooking, so a player needs a Cooking Pot set on a heat source, such as a lit Stove, and the ingredients for one of the recipes below.

Every soup in this group grants the Nourishment effect at level I when eaten. While the effect is active, the player's exhaustion is reset to zero each tick unless the player is healing from saturation, so hunger does not drain. A mixin also allows the player to eat even when the hunger bar is full while Nourishment is active.
The soup's duration and food values depend on the recipe:
| Soup group | Food (hunger points) | Saturation | Nourishment duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| Bone Broth | 8 | 11.2 | 60 s |
| Beef Stew, Chicken Soup, Vegetable Soup, Fish Stew, Onion Soup | 12 | 19.2 | 180 s |
| Pumpkin Soup, Baked Cod Stew, Noodle Soup | 14 | 21 | 300 s |
The Nourishment durations match the effect's tiers: Brief 30 s, Short 1 min, Medium 3 min and Long 5 min. Bone Broth is therefore a Short effect, the five soups in the middle group are Medium, and the three richest soups are Long.
Cooking
The Cooking Pot holds six ingredient slots, a meal display slot, a container slot and an output slot. It must sit on a heat source, and it cannot cook while it is flooded. Once the ingredients match a recipe, the pot cooks the dish and stores it as a meal stack. The finished meal is served by right-clicking the pot. The recipe book has a tab for meals, which is on by default and can be turned off in the configuration.
Several recipes accept more than one ingredient. Bone Broth takes Bone and Glow Berries, or one of 15 alternatives, and Fish Stew accepts 119 alternatives in place of its Raw Cod. Chicken Soup, Vegetable Soup and Pumpkin Soup each have a slot for a cabbage-type ingredient, with two alternatives. The c:foods/cabbage tag includes Cerebrage from Jaden's Nether Expansion, so Cerebrage can fill those slots.
Vanilla soups
With the default configuration, the vanilla Mushroom Stew, Beetroot Soup and Rabbit Stew grant Nourishment when they are finished. The vanilla soups also stack to 16. Rabbit Stew receives a further change by default. Its food values are replaced with 14 nutrition and 0.75 saturation, and it grants Long (5 min) Nourishment. Its item converts into a bowl when finished.
Mod interactions
Mods that change food properties of soups or the Nourishment effect will conflict with these changes. This includes food overhaul mods, soup mods, and mods that change the exhaustion rules or player eating rules. Because Nourishment changes hunger handling for every player who has it, hunger and survival-rule mods can also conflict with it.
