Straw, Canvas and Tatami is a group of building and crafting materials added by Farmer's Delight. Straw is harvested from plants and is the base material for Canvas and Tatami. Canvas is an ingredient in several crafting recipes, including the Farmer's Delight Baskets and the vanilla painting, book and basket recipes. Tatami is a set of floor blocks and mats that is crafted in stages from Canvas and Straw.

Obtaining

Harvesting straw

Straw is dropped by harvesting plants with a knife. The knife must be in the straw_harvesters tag, which the mod assigns to knife items (see Knives). Harvest chances are:

• grass: 20%
• tall grass: 20%
• sandy shrub: 30%
• mature Rice Panicle (age 3)
• mature wheat (age 7)

Straw is also produced by processing Rice and wild rice on a cutting board. Bamboo blocks on the cutting board give stripped bamboo and Straw.

Other sources

Canvas is also produced on a cutting board from a Basket (which also yields a Stick) or a Bamboo Basket (which also yields Bamboo).

Usage

Straw

Straw is a crafting ingredient for Straw Bale, Canvas and Tatami Block, and it is used in several Organic Compost recipes. Straw has a compost chance of 30% and gives 0.5 items of furnace fuel.

Straw Bale

Straw Bale is a decorative block with a hardness of 0.5 and a blast resistance of 0.5. Its preferred tool is the hoe, and it is flammable. It gives 5 items of furnace fuel. Nine Straw craft into one Straw Bale, and one Straw Bale crafts back into nine Straw.

Canvas

Canvas gives 2 items of furnace fuel. It is used in the recipes listed below.

Canvas Rug

Canvas Rug is a flat floor covering with a hardness of 0.2. The mod hides the block-break crack texture on Canvas Rugs on the client. It gives 1 item of furnace fuel. One Canvas makes two Canvas Rugs.

Tatami

Tatami is crafted in stages. A Tatami Block (hardness 0.8) splits into two Full Tatami Mats. A Full Tatami Mat (hardness 0.3) splits into two Half Tatami Mats, and two Half Tatami Mats combine into a Full Tatami Mat. Two Full Tatami Mats combine into one Tatami Block. The Full Tatami Mat has head and foot parts, so it occupies two blocks. The Half Tatami Mat occupies one block.

Tatami Block gives 2 items of furnace fuel, Full Tatami Mat gives 1 item, and Half Tatami Mat gives 0.5 items. Create's brittle block tag includes Tatami, so Create machinery treats it as brittle.
