Neptunium is a metal tier added by Aquaculture for underwater play. It makes up a set of tools, armour, a bow, a fillet knife, a fishing rod and a storage block, plus the Neptune's Bounty loot container. Most Neptunium tools and armour pieces gain a bonus while the player's eyes are underwater, so the metal is mainly useful to players who spend time fishing, diving or mining in water. The tools have 1796 durability and a mining speed of 8.5.

Neptunium is not found in the world. Aquaculture adds no ores, structures or dimensions, so the only sources are crafting from ingots, smelting gear back into ingots, fishing and the Neptune's Bounty container.

Obtaining

The Neptunium Ingot is the base material. Players make ingots into nuggets, blocks and gear, and blast gear back into ingots. Ingots are not smelted from ore.

• Blasting: Neptunium gear, including the axe, boots, chestplate, fillet knife and fishing rod, can be blasted into one Neptunium Ingot per item. The recipe takes 200 ticks and gives 0.5 experience.
• Fishing: When addNeptunesBountyToLoot is enabled, the fishing table gains a Neptunium entry. Its default weight is 1 (set by neptuniumLootRarity, range 1–100), compared with 85 for the Aquaculture fish entry and 10 for the junk entry. It is rolled only when the hook is in open water and gives a quality bonus of +2. Neptune's Bounty also appears in the fishing table.
• Neptune's Bounty chest: The container's loot table has 15 entries, mostly Neptunium gear and ingots, plus a junk subtable.
• Crafting: Ingots, nuggets and blocks are crafted as shown below.

Usage

Underwater perks

Each Neptunium item has a perk named in its tooltip. The perk applies only when the player's eyes are underwater, except where noted.

• Neptune's Gaze (helmet): Gives night vision, refreshed every 20 ticks, while the player's eyes are underwater.
• Neptune's Lungs (chestplate): Gives water breathing, refreshed every 20 ticks, while the player's eyes are underwater.
• Neptune's Buoyancy (leggings): Cancels gravity while the player is underwater. Crouching, jumping, swimming and spectating disable the effect.
• Neptune's Swiftness (boots): Increases swim speed by 150%. This applies at all times, not only in water, through a fixed-ID attribute modifier.
• Neptune's Grace (pickaxe and shovel): Multiplies block breaking speed by 25 while the player's eyes are underwater.
• Neptune's Might (sword and axe): Multiplies damage dealt by 1.5 while the wielder's eyes are underwater.

Because these effects depend on the eyes rather than the body, a player whose head is above the surface but whose feet are in water does not get them. Other underwater-gear and underwater-mining mods may overlap with these bonuses.

Armour

The Neptunium armour set has a toughness of 2 and no knockback resistance. Its defence values are 3 for the helmet, 8 for the chestplate, 6 for the leggings and 3 for the boots. The armour is repaired with Neptunium Ingots. The tools have an enchantability of 14.

Tools and weapons

• Neptune's Gift (hoe): Tills soil into the mod's own farmland, which has a moisture level of 7. Other hoes still till vanilla farmland. Villagers treat this farmland as farmland.
• Neptune's Might (sword and axe): See the underwater perks above.
• Neptune's Feast (fillet knife): Gives 25% more fillets from each fish, and the knife does not lose durability. See Fillet Knives and Fish Fillets.

Neptune's Strike (bow)

The Neptunium Bow fires the mod's own water arrows instead of vanilla arrows. Water arrows keep their inertia in water at 1.0, so they travel through water without slowing down. The bow's durability is 2500. Other mods that handle arrow entities may not expect this swap.

Fishing rod

The Neptunium Fishing Rod adds 100 to lure speed. Total lure speed is capped at 500. See Fishing Rods for how lure speed and the other rod stats work.

Items

The Neptunium Block is a metal block that needs an iron pickaxe to mine, with a hardness of 5 and a blast resistance of 6. Neptune's Bounty is a chest-like container that also needs an iron pickaxe, with a hardness of 3.5 and a blast resistance of 8. Neptune's Bounty is added to the c:chests tag, so other mods that read that tag treat it as a chest.

Tips

• Fish in open water to give the Neptunium loot entry a chance. It is not rolled when the hook is in lava.
• Wearing the helmet and chestplate together gives night vision and water breathing at the same time while the eyes are underwater.
• Blast Neptunium gear that you no longer need for ingots, since each item gives one ingot.
