The Fishing Lines and Bobbers are fishing rod accessories added by Tide and Aquaculture 2. A line occupies the rod's line slot and changes fish speed, catch difficulty or luck. A bobber occupies the rod's bobber slot. Tide's bobbers have no gameplay stat, while the edible bobbers are also food items and the Golden Apple variants apply potion effects when eaten. Tide's lines form an upgrade chain, with every upgraded line built from the base Fishing Line.
Tide's fishing rods hold a hook, a line, a bobber and bait in their accessory slots, which the Angling Table fills. Aquaculture 2 rods use a four-slot system with a hook, bait, a fishing-line item and a bobber item. Aquaculture's line and bobber are separate items from Tide's, and both are listed in the items table below.
Obtaining
Every line and bobber on this page is crafted. The facts sheet records no chest, mob or trade source for them, so crafting is the only way to obtain them.
Crafting
The base Fishing Line from Tide is made from three String. The four Tide line upgrades each combine two of an ingot or gem with one base Fishing Line:
- Copper Line: 2 Copper Ingot + Fishing Line
- Iron Line: 2 Iron Ingot + Fishing Line
- Golden Line: 2 Gold Ingot + Fishing Line
- Diamond Line: 2 Diamond + Fishing Line
Every Tide bobber uses the same base: a Slimeball and an Oak Planks (or one of 84 alternative planks), combined with a dye or a special ingredient. The 16 colour bobbers take the matching dye. The other bobbers take a specific item, such as an Iron Ingot for the Iron Bobber, a Golden Apple for the Golden Apple Bobber, or a Heart of the Sea for the Heart Bobber.
Aquaculture 2 has its own pair of items. Its Fishing Line is made from four String and an Iron Ingot. Its Bobber is made from two Clay Balls and a Nautilus Shell. Both stack to 64.
Usage
Fishing lines
Tide lines modify fish speed, catch difficulty and luck. The effects below apply while the line is in the rod's line slot.

Luck feeds the weighted catch selection. The +1 luck from the Golden Line is the only luck bonus any line provides.
The minigame modifiers apply to the reel minigame that Tide runs after a fish is caught. When Starcatcher or Stardew Fishing is installed, those mods replace the minigame and Tide's line multipliers do not apply.
Aquaculture 2's Fishing Line has no listed stat. It fills the rod's line slot, and it is also one of the items the Tackle Box accepts.
Bobbers
Tide's bobbers have no gameplay stat. The mod profile lists them as cosmetic, and no speed, luck or catch effect is attached to any of them.
The Apple Bobber, Golden Apple Bobber and Enchanted Golden Apple Bobber are food items. The Apple Bobber restores 4 hunger and 2.4 saturation. The Golden Apple Bobber restores 4 hunger and 9.6 saturation, and grants Regeneration II for 5 seconds and Absorption I for 120 seconds. The Enchanted Golden Apple Bobber restores the same food values and grants Regeneration II for 20 seconds, Resistance I and Fire Resistance I for 300 seconds each, and Absorption IV for 120 seconds.
The Netherite Bobber is the only bobber with fire resistance, which the items table records as a property of the item.
Aquaculture 2's Bobber fills the rod's bobber slot, which accepts any item in the bobber tag. The mod profile does not describe a gameplay effect for it.
