The Tackle Box is a storage block added by Aquaculture. It holds fishing gear: one fishing rod in its first slot, and hooks, bait, fishing lines and bobbers and other tackle boxes in the remaining slots. A player who fishes often uses it to keep a full set of tackle in one place and move it between sessions without filling the inventory.
Obtaining
The Tackle Box is obtained by crafting. It has no natural generation, and it is not offered by villagers or wandering traders.

Storage
The Tackle Box is a container with 17 slots. Slot 0 accepts only Aquaculture fishing rods. The other 16 slots accept any of the following:
- hooks (all Aquaculture hook items);
- bait, which is any item implementing the bait interface (Worm, Leech and Minnow);
- fishing line and bobbers, which are items in the
aquaculture:fishing_lineandaquaculture:bobbertags; - other Tackle Boxes (items in the
aquaculture:tackle_boxtag).
Items that do not match these rules cannot be placed in the box. Opening the Tackle Box uses a dedicated container screen.
Redstone signal
A Tackle Box outputs a redstone comparator signal based on the contents of its inventory. A redstone comparator placed against the box reads that signal, which lets other redstone circuits respond to the box's contents.
Moving and placing
The block has four horizontal facing states (north, south, east and west) and a waterlogged state, so it can sit in a water block. Shift-right-clicking a Tackle Box picks it up together with its contents, so a full box can be moved without emptying it first. Because it is a container item, a Tackle Box can also be stored inside another Tackle Box.
Mining
The Tackle Box has a hardness of 4 and a blast resistance of 5. It is mined with a pickaxe and requires at least a stone pickaxe.
Tips
- Keep your main rod in slot 0. Only Aquaculture rods are accepted there.
- Stack Tackle Boxes inside a larger one to group tackle by type.
- Use a comparator on the box to build an alarm that tells you when the tackle is taken out or moved.
