The Hexerei Decorative Wood Blocks are the building blocks that Hexerei adds for its three wood families, Willow, Mahogany and Witch Hazel, together with a matching set of stone windows. The set covers chests, altars, wood window panes and windows, and the connected, pillar and layered forms of each wood's planks in plain and polished versions. Most of these blocks have a waxed version, made with a Waxing Kit. Waxing does not change the hardness or blast resistance of a block.
The Hexerei wood sets are placed in the vanilla wood tags (planks, logs, chests, signs, boats and the wooden furniture tags). Mods that key on those tags treat Hexerei woods as ordinary wood. Hexerei also generates Woodcutter (Hexerei) recipes for them.

Crafting
Each block's recipe is listed in the table below. Some recipes are worth noting:
- A chest of each wood is made from eight planks of that wood.
- Wood windows are made from planks and glass, and one craft yields two windows. Wood window panes are made from six windows, which yield sixteen panes.
- The stone window needs iron bars as well as stone and glass, and yields two windows per craft. Stone window panes are made from six stone windows.
- Altars are made from three slabs and four planks of the same wood.
- A polished boat is made from five polished planks. A chest boat is a chest with a polished boat.

3Waxing
Waxing turns a block into its waxed version. It needs a Waxing Kit in hand and a right-click on a waxable block. The kit is crafted in a Mixing Cauldron from one cloth, three iron ingots, four mahogany planks and 1000 mB of water.
The kit holds up to 256 charges, and each waxed block uses one charge. Adding Wax Blend to the kit in a crafting grid adds one charge per blend, up to the 256 limit. The kit's bar shows the remaining charges.
Waxable blocks are:
- Willow planks, which become polished willow planks.
- The polished and plain connected, pillar and layered blocks of all three woods.
- Wood window panes and wood windows of all three woods.
- Stone windows and stone window panes.
- Infused fabric blocks, carpets, stairs and slabs, including the ornate forms.
A Cleaning Cloth reverses waxing. It turns a waxed block back into its unwaxed form.
Loot and drops
Hexerei chests drop themselves when broken. Their loot tables roll one item at 100% of the time. The table below lists the drops for each chest.

In Fear Nightfall, Lootr cannot give each player their own copy of Hexerei chests. These chests are shared, first come first served, so a chest opened by one player has the same contents for everyone who finds it.
Usage
Connected, pillar and layered blocks
Connected blocks are full blocks with no extra behaviour. They are given connected textures, so adjacent blocks of the same wood join visually. Pillars have connection properties on all four sides, so their textures also connect to neighbouring pillars. Layered blocks have an axis property only. The unwaxed forms are mined with an axe, with a hardness of 2 and a blast resistance of 3. The waxed forms have the same hardness and blast resistance.
The unwaxed polished and plain forms count as furnace fuel, with each unit smelting 1.5 items. The waxed forms do not count as fuel.
Windows and window panes
Wood windows are transparent blocks with a hardness of 0.3. They can be broken by hand, like glass. Wood window panes behave like glass panes: they connect to neighbouring panes and walls through four side properties and can be waterlogged. The wood window panes carry the neoforge:glass_panes tag, so mods that accept glass panes also accept them. The stone window and stone window pane have the same stats as glass, and their waxed forms match.
Chests
Hexerei chests have facing and type states (single, left and right), so two chests placed side by side form a double chest. They can be waterlogged and count as wooden chests under the neoforge:chests tag. They have a hardness of 3 and a blast resistance of 3, and they are mined with an axe.
Altars
The Willow Altar and the Witch Hazel Altar are connecting tables. Their shape states connect each side to neighbouring altars. Each altar has a hardness of 2 and a blast resistance of 2. The Book of Shadows altar is a separate block and is not part of this set.

- Keep a Waxing Kit with charges left before starting a large waxed build, because each waxed block uses one charge.
- A Cleaning Cloth can undo waxing if a waxed block needs to change back to its unwaxed form.
