The Baba Yaga's Hut is a horror structure added by Hexerei. It is a small dwelling raised on log supports and occupied by a witch. It is one of the forest structures in Fear Nightfall. The hut is generated in the Overworld, in forest biomes, and it is distinct from the smaller Hexerei Witch Hut that appears in swamps.
Generation
The hut generates in the Overworld. Its biome tag lists twelve forest-type biomes, including Sleepy Hollows, Willow Forest, Forest, Maple Forest, Redwood Forest, Orchard, Old Growth Forest, Birch Taiga, Woodland, Pumpkin Patch, Blooming Valley and Blooming Plateau. The full list is in the infobox.
Placement uses random spread with a spacing of 70 chunks and a separation of 67 chunks, which are the in-game values after the pack's Sparse Structures scaling (the mod default is 99 chunks). Observed density is about one hut per 26 km². A hut is never placed within 10 chunks of a Nature Coven.
The structure is placed on the surface of the terrain. Where the ground slopes, the hut is supported by log legs that extend down to the ground beneath it. Its typical size is 21 by 27 blocks, and it is 19 blocks tall.
Fear Nightfall places horror structures roughly 30% closer together than the mod default. Hexerei's huts and covens are part of this group.
Layout
The hut has one fixed layout. Its generation pool contains a single template, so every hut is the same building. Its interior includes a Mixing Cauldron, a Herb Drying Rack, a Witch Hazel chest and a broom stand, all with the Witch Hazel wood set used by the mod.
Inhabitants
Each hut contains one witch. The witch is vanilla and behaves as it does in the base game: it throws harmful potions at players and attacks from range.
Wearing Witch Armor changes how witches treat the player. With two or more pieces of the three-piece set worn, witches stop targeting the wearer, and magic damage taken by the wearer is halved. With all three pieces worn, magic damage the wearer deals is multiplied by 1.25. These bonuses apply to all magic damage, not only attacks from witches.
Loot
The hut's Witch Hazel chest is the main reward. The table below lists the chest loot.
Biomes (12): Sleepy Hollows, Forest, Maple Forest, Redwood Forest, Orchard, Old Growth Forest, Willow Forest, Birch Taiga, Woodland, Pumpkin Patch, Blooming Valley, Blooming Plateau
Mobs placed in the structure: Witch
Hexerei chests are not converted to per-player containers by Lootr. Each player does not get their own copy of the contents. Anything taken from the chest is gone for everyone, so a hut should be looted quickly on a shared server.
Tips
Approach the hut in daylight or with a light source. Witches attack from a distance, so clear the witch first, then search the building. Wearing two or more pieces of Witch Armor makes the witch ignore you, which makes the fight simpler.
A lit Sage Burning Plate stops hostile monsters from spawning naturally within 48 blocks. Placing one near a hut before a fight gives a safer area to craft and rest.
