The pies, cakes and sweets are food items added by Farmer's Delight. They include whole pies and a cake that are placed as blocks and eaten one serving at a time, the slices cut from them, and a set of quick sweets: cookies, a popsicle, a custard and a fruit salad. The whole pies and the cake are built from the mod's Pie Crust and farm crops, and each slice is a separate food item with its own hunger and saturation values. Pie Crust is also a food item in its own right.

In Fear Nightfall the items are made the same way as in the base mod. The pack adds Farmer's Delight chest loot to vanilla structure chests, so some of these items can also be found in structures.

Obtaining

Apart from chest loot, every item on this page is made by crafting, by cutting an existing pie or cake, or by cooking in a Cooking Pot. None of them is a natural block or a mob drop.

Crafting

Whole pies are assembled from a Pie Crust and a filling. Pie Crust is made from 3 Wheat and a Milk Bucket. The pies are made as follows:

• Apple Pie: 3 Wheat, 3 Apple, 2 Sugar and a Pie Crust.
• Chocolate Pie: 3 Cocoa Beans, 3 Milk Buckets, 2 Sugar and a Pie Crust.
• Sweet Berry Cheesecake: 6 Sweet Berries, 2 Milk Buckets and a Pie Crust.
• Pumpkin Pie: 4 Pumpkin Slices, an Egg, a Sugar and a Pie Crust. This recipe yields 2 Pumpkin Pies.

Milk ingredients accept a Milk Bucket or an alternative milk item, as defined by the recipe's tag. The recipes for the pies and the cake are listed in the table below.

The quick sweets are also crafted. Sweet Berry Cookies and Honey Cookies each yield 8 cookies from Sweet Berries or a Honey Bottle with 2 Wheat. A Melon Popsicle takes 4 Melon Slices, 2 Ice and a Stick. A Fruit Salad is crafted from an Apple, 2 Melon Slices, 2 Sweet Berries, a Pumpkin Slice and a Bowl, where one of the listed alternatives may replace one of the Sweet Berries.

The Glow Berry Custard is cooked rather than crafted. It is made in a Cooking Pot from Glow Berries, a Milk Bucket, an Egg and a Sugar, and cooking it gives 1 experience.

Cutting Board

Each whole pie is cut on a Cutting Board with a knife. A pie yields 4 slices, and the Cake yields 7 slices. Slicing a pie turns the whole pie into four slices of the same flavour.

The cake can also be sliced in place. Right-clicking a placed cake with a knife removes one bite and drops a Cake Slice, so the cake is eaten away slice by slice without a cutting board. See Knives for the knife's other uses.

Chest loot

Farmer's Delight adds its chest loot to 14 vanilla chest tables, including abandoned mineshafts, bastion treasure, end city treasure, pillager outposts, ruined portals, shipwrecks, simple dungeons, and village houses in the plains, desert, savanna, snowy and taiga biomes. This loot is enabled by default and can be turned off in the mod's configuration. In this pack, the loot also reaches the structure chests that the pack maps to these tables.

Usage

Whole pies and the cake are placed blocks. Each holds 4 servings, stored as a bite state from 0 to 3. Right-clicking a placed pie or cake eats one serving at a time. Pumpkin Pies have a special placement rule: right-clicking a block with a Pumpkin Pie places it without sneaking by default. A configuration option can require sneaking instead.

Each slice is a food item that is eaten normally. Most slices give a Speed I effect: 20 seconds for a Cake Slice and 30 seconds for each pie slice. Other items on this page give the following effects:

• Fruit Salad: Regeneration I for 5 seconds.
• Glow Berry Custard: Glowing I for 5 seconds, at a 100% chance.

The sweets are used mostly for their food value. The Glow Berry Custard has the highest hunger value in the group, at 7 hunger points and 8.4 saturation. The Fruit Salad has 6 hunger points and 7.2 saturation. The cookies are among the smallest food items, at 2 hunger points and 0.4 saturation each, and they are made in batches of 8. Most items on this page stack to 64, but the Glow Berry Custard and the Fruit Salad stack to 16.

The sweets and slices do not grant the mod's Nourishment effect. Nourishment comes from the meals and soups described on Farmer's Delight Meals, and it stops the hunger drain while it is active. Pie Crust is a food item too, with 2 hunger points and 0.8 saturation.

Crafting ingredient

Pie Crust is used in every whole pie. Slices are used to craft the whole pies back: 4 Slices of Apple Pie make an Apple Pie, 4 Slices of Chocolate Pie make a Chocolate Pie, and 7 Slices of Cake make a Cake. The table below lists the recipes that use each item.
