The Arcane Anvil is an epic-rarity block added by Iron's Spells 'n Spellbooks. It is the central workstation of the mod's magic progression: it upgrades spell-capable equipment, merges ink into scrolls, and refreshes upgraded items. It is a stackable block with a light level of 7, and it requires a pickaxe to mine.

Obtaining

The Arcane Anvil is not found in natural terrain or loot as a placed block. It is obtained by crafting one, which requires a vanilla anvil as an ingredient.

Usage

Equipment upgrades

Whitelisted equipment can be upgraded on the Arcane Anvil. Each upgrade adds attribute modifiers in the equipment slot the item is worn or held in. An item can receive up to 3 upgrades (the maxUpgrades config default). Upgraded items display a "+N" suffix in their name, where N is the number of upgrades applied.

Scroll merging

Scrolls can be combined with ink on the Arcane Anvil to raise their rarity or level. Scroll merging is enabled by default (scrollMerging). Ink comes in five rarities, from common to legendary.

Imbued weapons

Imbued swords use the Casting Implement component and consume mana when they cast a spell (swordsConsumeMana, default true). Their spell cooldowns are multiplied by 0.5 (swordsCooldownMultiplier).

Shriving Stone

The Shriving Stone is an anvil recipe that refreshes and renames upgraded items. Using it on the Arcane Anvil costs 1 level, the minimum anvil cost.

Breaking the block

The Arcane Anvil has a hardness of 5 and a blast resistance of 1200. It requires a pickaxe to mine. The mod adds the block to the mineable/pickaxe tag.

Fear Nightfall changes

The pack's change log records no changes to the Arcane Anvil. Its upgrade cap, scroll merging and mana settings use the mod's default values.
