The Archevoker is a hostile spellcasting mob added by Iron's Spells 'n Spellbooks. It has 60 health (30 hearts) and fights mainly with Evocation Spells rather than melee. It is placed in the Evoker Fort structure. Its summoned vexes and area spells make it dangerous to approach without preparation.
Spawning
The Archevoker does not appear in ordinary random mob spawning in any biome. Its natural source is the Evoker Fort structure, which the pack places in the overworld with a spacing of 85 and a separation of 50 (see the Evoker Fort page for biomes and layout).
It can also be created with the Archevoker Spawn Egg, which stacks to 64.
Does not spawn naturally in any biome (see Obtaining/Spawning text).
Behavior
The Archevoker has a melee attack of 3 damage (1.5 hearts), a movement speed of 0.25, and a follow range of 24 blocks. It is 0.6 blocks wide and 2 blocks tall. Its movement speed is faster than a player's walking speed, so it cannot be outrun easily once it is chasing.
Its AI runs a set of goals by priority, where a lower number is checked first.
Spellcasting
- Attack spells (priority 2): The main attack goal casts Fang Strike or Firecracker. It also casts the defensive spells Fang Ward or Shield. It pursues its target at 1.5 times its normal speed and waits 30 to 80 ticks (1.5 to 4 seconds) between casts. Its spell quality is set between 0.4 and 0.6.
- Summon Vex (priority 1): Casts Summon Vex at a random spell level from 1 to 3, with 100 to 260 ticks (5 to 13 seconds) between casts. Vexes it summons are allied with it, and their damage scales with the summoner's summon damage attribute.
- Gust (priority 1): Casts Gust at half of the spell's maximum level. It triggers when the Archevoker's target is within 5 blocks and at least two other hostile mobs are within 6 blocks of that target. It also triggers when the Archevoker is below 25% health while other hostile mobs are nearby. After a Gust cast, the Archevoker waits 40 to 69 ticks (2 to 3.5 seconds) before the check runs again.
- Invisibility (single use): Casts Invisibility once, at spell level 5, after a delay of 40 to 80 ticks. The Archevoker is then invisible.
- Potions: The Archevoker drinks potions during a fight.
Movement and targeting
Without a target, the Archevoker patrols within 30 blocks of its position at 0.75 of its normal speed. It looks at players within 8 blocks. It attacks players it can see, and it retaliates against anything that damages it.
Equipment
Each Archevoker spawns wearing an Archevoker Helmet and an Archevoker Chestplate from the School Armor Sets. Both have a 0% drop chance, so they never drop from the mob.
Drops
The Archevoker gives 25 experience points when killed. Its loot table contains the following entries:
- Arcane Essence: 0 to 8, with a looting bonus. Dropped only when a player kills it.
- Scroll: a random chance, only when a player kills it. See Scrolls.
- Evocation Rune: a random chance, only when a player kills it. See Runes.
- Magic item loot: a random chance of ink from the mod's shared magic-item table. See Scroll Forge and Inks.
The chances are shown in the table below.
| Item | Amount | Conditions |

In Fear Nightfall, vanilla Evokers also drop extra loot from the pack's additional entity drops. This is separate from the Archevoker's own loot table.
Tips
- Its melee damage is low, so the threat is its spells. Expect Summon Vex and Gust during a fight, and plan to deal with the vexes first.
- Gust is more likely to be cast when the Archevoker is near other hostile mobs. Fighting it away from other hostile mobs reduces how often Gust triggers.
- A player wearing the Ring of Invisibility can see invisible mobs, so the Archevoker stays visible to that player after it casts Invisibility. See Rings, Amulets and Charms.
- In Peaceful difficulty, Archevokers despawn.
