Phasmo Shards and Arrows are a family of soul-themed items added by Jaden's Nether Expansion. The family consists of the Phasmo Shard, a stackable crafting material; the Phasmo Arrow, an arrow that passes through blocks; and the Phasmo Slab, a block made from three shards. Shards are the central ingredient of the mod's soul crafting. They are needed for Soul Glass, Petrified Swirls, Phasmo Arrows, Phasmo shotgun shells and the Phasmo Slab, so a player who wants any of these items must gather shards first.

In Fear Nightfall, Phasmo Arrows are one of the loot types in the Brazier Chests of the Sanctum structure in Soul Sand Valley, the nether biome where the mod's Ecto Slab spawns. Banshee Powder is one of the two shard ingredients. The Banshee has no natural spawn entry in this mod. The Sanctum is described in Chapel and Sanctum.

Obtaining

Phasmo Shards and Arrows are obtained by crafting, by killing Ecto Slabs, and from Brazier Chests. The Phasmo Slab is crafted only.

Crafting

A Phasmo Shard is crafted from one Banshee Powder and one Slime Ball shapeless, which yields 2 shards. A Phasmo Slab is crafted from three shards in a row and yields one slab. A Phasmo Slab can be crafted back into three shards. Phasmo Arrows are crafted by placing four shards around a regular arrow in a plus shape, which yields 2 arrows. Loot and drops

Ecto Slabs drop 0 to 3 Phasmo Shards on death, with one extra shard possible per level of Looting. The shard drop does not occur when the Ecto Slab is killed by a frog. Brazier Chests in the Sanctum contain Phasmo Arrows, with roughly a 45% chance per chest, and stacks of 3 to 18 in the exposed variant. Brazier Chests are locked until a Spark of Treachery is used. Their contents are shared and first come, first served, because Lootr cannot make them per-player in this pack.

A Phasmo Slab drops itself when it is broken with a pickaxe. A double slab drops two slabs. The drop is subject to explosion decay.

Usage

The Phasmo Shard has no direct use on its own. Its main roles are listed below.

• Soul Glass. Four shards surrounding a plain glass block, in a plus shape, make 2 Soul Glass blocks. Soul Glass has 1200 blast resistance.
• Petrified Swirls. Four shards surrounding a block from the soul swirls tag make 4 Petrified Swirls.
• Shotgun shells. A Phasmo shotgun shell is crafted from a shotgun shell surrounded by four shards. Phasmo shells fire Phasmo pellets from the Pump-Charge Shotgun family of shotguns.

Phasmo Arrow

The Phasmo Arrow is in the vanilla arrows tag, so bows and crossbows fire it like a regular arrow, and dispensers launch it. It has these special behaviours:

• It passes through blocks. Projectiles in the ignores-block-collision tag are not stopped by a block they hit, so a Phasmo Arrow can fly through solid blocks instead of landing against them.
• While it is inside a block it does not fall under gravity.
• It leaves soul particles along its flight path.
• Once it lands on the ground, it can be picked up again as a Phasmo Arrow.

Hitting any entity with a Phasmo Arrow counts toward the Blind Shot advancement, which sits in the Soul Sand Valley branch of the nether advancements. The arrow's damage follows the vanilla arrow rules; this item adds no separate damage value.

Phasmo Slab

The Phasmo Slab is a block with 1.0 hardness and 1200 blast resistance. It requires a pickaxe and emits light level 2. It uses the chime instrument for note blocks.
