Nether Expansion Miscellaneous

Nether Expansion Miscellaneous
Mod	Jaden's Nether Expansion
Items	14
Stackable	Yes (64)

The Nether Expansion Miscellaneous group is the set of food, containers, utility blocks, decorative blocks and single-purpose items added by Jaden's Nether Expansion that do not belong to a larger family covered elsewhere on the wiki. It includes the Glowcheese and Nether Pizza foods, Wraithing Flesh and the Wraithing Lesion, the Will O' Wisp, Stridite, the Brazier Chest, the Discernment Glass, the Sculk Grinder, the Magma Cream Block, the Ghoul o'Lantern and the Inscribed Panel.

Several members of the group are sourced from the mod's Soul Sand Valley content. Stridite comes from Stampedes, Wraithing Flesh comes from Vessels, and the Brazier Chest is part of the Sanctum structure. Other members are crafted from materials that the player gathers elsewhere.

Obtaining

Wisps emerge from Ecto Soul Sand, and a wisp can be bottled to produce a Bottle of Wisp, which is one of the inputs for the Will O' Wisp recipe. Vessels drop Wraithing Flesh with a base count of 2 to 4, and the Looting enchantment adds to that count. Stampedes drop 1 to 5 Stridite on death and shed a single Stridite with a 10% chance while they are alive. The Sanctum loot tables described below hold Wraithing Flesh, Will O' Wisps and Stridite, with the exact chances shown in the generated table.

Most other items in the group are crafted. Glowcheese, Nether Pizza, Wraithing Lesion, Discernment Glass, Magma Cream Block, Ghoul o'Lantern and Inscribed Panel each have a recipe, which is shown in the crafting grids below.

Usage

Most members of the group are food, decorative or utility blocks that the player places, or intermediate items that feed other recipes. The subsections below describe the behaviour of each notable member. The recipes and loot chances are shown in the generated tables on this page.

Glowcheese and Nether Pizza

Glowcheese is a food item with a stack size of 64. Eating it restores 1 hunger point with a saturation value of 0.2 and gives Hunger VI for 15 seconds with a 60% chance. It is an ingredient of the Nether Pizza.

The Nether Pizza is a food block with four slices. Each right-click without sneaking gives the player one Nether Pizza Slice and removes one slice from the block. The last slice removes the block. A pizza emits a redstone comparator signal equal to three times its slice count, so a full pizza emits 12. A Nether Pizza Slice is rare, has a stack size of 64, restores 6 hunger points with a saturation value of 12 and gives Instant Health I.

Wraithing Flesh and Wraithing Lesion

Wraithing Flesh is a food item with a stack size of 64. It restores 3 hunger points with a saturation value of 0.6 and gives Slowness III for 30 seconds with an 80% chance. It is an ingredient of the Inscribed Panel and the Wraithing Lesion.

The Wraithing Lesion is a block with a hardness of 1.5 and a blast resistance of 1. The mod profile gives a growth chance of 0.1, and the block can be harvested for items.

Will O' Wisp

The Will O' Wisp is a stackable item with a stack size of 64. Thrown, it launches a Will O' Wisp entity, which accelerates from 0.1 to 16 blocks per second over 5 seconds. A wind charge can propel it faster, up to 26 blocks per second. Banshees can redirect their stun effect onto nearby Will O' Wisps. The item also appears in the Brazier Chest loot tables.

Stridite

Stridite is a fire-resistant material with a stack size of 64. It is an ingredient of the shotgun barrel and of the Netherite Plating.

Petrified Swirls

Petrified Swirls is a stone block with a hardness of 2.7 and a blast resistance of 1200. It is crafted from Phasmo Shards and Soul Swirls. Living entities that move horizontally inside the block take 1 point of cactus damage per tick of movement, except Ecto Slabs. Falling onto the block causes fall damage equal to the fall distance plus 2. The block is the petrified form of Soul Swirls, and Ecto Slab petrification converts nearby Soul Swirls into it, as described in the Ecto Slab article.

Discernment Glass

Discernment Glass is a glass block with a hardness of 0.3. It is a member of the c:glass_blocks tag. Right-clicking the block with an item sets that item as its filter, and right-clicking it with an empty hand returns the filter item to the player. While a filter is set and the block is not powered, only item entities that match the filter can pass through it. While the block is powered, every item entity except the filter item can pass. The filter checks item entities only. Item entities inside the block are slowed by a factor of 0.6 by default, which is set by the soulGlassMovementSlowdown config option.

Brazier Chest

The Brazier Chest is a chest with 27 slots. It is locked, and the in-game message reads "Brazier Chest is Locked, requires Spark of Treachery to open." Once it is unlocked, it runs a refill timer that defaults to 3600 seconds (the brazierChestRefillCooldown config option). When the timer expires, the chest extinguishes and refills its loot table.

Under the Fear Nightfall pack, Lootr does not make Brazier Chests per-player. Their contents are shared, so the first player to take an item removes it for everyone.

Sculk Grinder

The Sculk Grinder is a block with a hardness of 80, a light level of 13 and the hoe tool type. Right-clicking it with an item from the netherexp:sculk_grindables tag consumes one of that item and spawns 450 experience orbs. The tag contains the Spark of Treachery and the mod's artifact items. Right-clicking it with a Sculk block consumes the block and drops a Sculk Grinder item.

Magma Cream Block

The Magma Cream Block is crafted from nine Magma Cream. It has a hardness of 0, no blast resistance and a light level of 10. The mod also overrides the vanilla magma block recipe to use netherrack and Magma Cream and to produce four blocks per craft.

Ghoul o'Lantern

The Ghoul o'Lantern is made from a Carved Sorrowsquash and a Soul Torch. It has a hardness of 1, a blast resistance of 1, a light level of 10 and the axe tool type.

Inscribed Panel

The Inscribed Panel is a wall-mounted block with a hardness of 1 and a blast resistance of 5. It has 29 inscriptions. Right-clicking it with an empty hand moves to the next inscription, and sneaking while right-clicking moves to the previous one. Using a Honeycomb on the panel salts it, which stops further inscription changes. A panel can be waterlogged or placed in Ectoplasm, and a panel in Ectoplasm emits light at level 12.
