The Mail Boxes and Deliveries system is a player-to-player postal network added by Refurbished Furniture (MrCrayfish's Furniture Mod: Refurbished). It consists of three items: the Mailbox, a placed block with a per-player ownership limit; the Post Box, a block that sends items to any mailbox on the server; and the Package, a sealed item that carries the sent items and an optional message. A player sends a package from a Post Box, and the server delivers it into the recipient's mailbox, one package per server tick. Mail is useful on multiplayer servers, where it lets players trade items and notes without meeting in person, and it works without any power network.
Obtaining
Refurbished Furniture does not add mailboxes, Post Boxes or packages to natural generation, structure loot, mob drops or villager trades. Mailboxes and Post Boxes are only obtained by crafting. Packages are not craftable; they are created by a Post Box when mail is sent.
Crafting
Each wood type has its own mailbox. The Post Box is crafted from iron and dye instead. The recipe grids are generated below.

Mailboxes
A Mailbox is placed like any block. Placing it claims the mailbox for the placing player, who is then prompted to name it. The name may be up to 32 characters, must not be blank, and can only be set once, at placement. The name is shown when a Post Box lists the mailbox, and in the mailbox's own screen.
- A player may own at most 16 mailboxes by default (server config
maxMailboxesPerPlayer). Placing a seventeenth fails with the message "You've reached your limit on Mailboxes". - The mailbox has 1 row of 9 slots by default. The server config
mailboxInventoryRowssets this from 1 to 6 rows (9 to 54 slots). - Opening a mailbox that has no owner claims it for the player who opened it.
- When a package is delivered into a mailbox, the mailbox's on-block flag is raised. The flag is lowered the next time a player opens the mailbox.
- Breaking a mailbox removes it from the delivery system. Any packages still waiting in its queue drop into the world at the mailbox's position, so they are not lost.
- A mailbox only receives mail while its chunk is loaded. Packages sent to an unloaded mailbox wait in its queue until the chunk loads.
Post Boxes
A Post Box has 6 package slots and is placed like any block. It needs a stone or better pickaxe to break, with a hardness of 3.5. It does not need power.
Right-clicking a Post Box opens a list of every mailbox on the server, not only the player's own. The list can be searched by mailbox name, or by player name with an @ prefix. To send mail, the player selects a mailbox, places items in the package slots, optionally types a message of up to 1024 characters, and clicks send. On success the Post Box is emptied and the player sees "Package sent!". Sending does nothing if the Post Box is empty or holds a banned item (see below). If the selected mailbox's queue is full, or the mailbox is in a dimension that does not allow mail, the player sees an error message and the items stay in the Post Box.
Banned items cannot be placed into a Post Box slot at all.
Packages
A Package is a non-stackable item. It stores the items from the Post Box, the message, and the sender's name. Its tooltip shows "Sent by" and the sender's name, followed by the message in grey text, and then the prompt to open it.
Right-clicking a package consumes it, plays the package-open sound, and drops all of its stored items at the player's position. Packages cannot be placed inside containers such as shulker boxes. A dispenser that holds a package and is activated empties it, dropping its contents.
Delivery
Delivery runs on the server every tick. Each mailbox takes at most one package from its queue per tick and places it in its inventory. A package goes into the first empty slot, or the first slot holding an identical stack that still has room. If the mailbox has no room, the package stays in the queue until a slot opens. Each mailbox's queue holds up to 32 packages by default. When a queue is full, sending to that mailbox fails.
Because packages are not stackable, each delivered package occupies its own slot.
Restrictions and dimensions
- Items with their own inventories, such as shulker boxes and other items that cannot fit inside a container, are banned from sending by default (server config
banSendingItemsWithInventories). This keeps large item data out of the save. - The server config
bannedItemsis meant to add more banned items by registry id, such asminecraft:water_bucket. It does not currently work: the check compares against each item's translation key, so entries written in the documented format never match. The default list is empty, so no extra items are banned by default. - By default the allowed-dimension list is empty, which allows mailboxes in all dimensions. If a dimension is not allowed, a mailbox cannot be placed there, and an existing mailbox there shows "Mailbox is disabled as it is not in an allowed dimension" and cannot be opened. Packages cannot be sent to a mailbox in a disallowed dimension.
Power
Neither the Mailbox nor the Post Box is powered, so neither depends on the Electricity network.
Tips
- The Post Box lists every mailbox on the server, so a mail system works as a server-wide directory. Name your mailbox clearly, because the name is the only way others can find it besides the player name.
- Keep a mailbox's inventory large enough for the traffic it receives. Packages that cannot be delivered wait in the queue, and the queue has room for only 32 packages.
- Break a mailbox only when it is empty. Breaking one drops its queued packages in the world, where other players may take them.

There are ten Mailbox variants, one per wood type, plus the Post Box and the Package. The table below is generated from game data.
