Doorbell and Door Mat are two decorative blocks added by Refurbished Furniture (MrCrayfish's Furniture Mod: Refurbished). The Doorbell is a wall-mounted, electricity-powered button that plays a chime and alerts the player who placed it when a visitor presses it. The Door Mat is a small floor block with a 14 by 10 pixel canvas that can be painted, copied and washed back to a blank mat. Both are crafted at the workbench.
Obtaining
Both blocks are obtained by crafting. Crafting at the workbench requires electricity to be connected and powered. The Door Mat can also be duplicated in a regular crafting grid (see below).
Crafting
The Doorbell needs 2 iron ingots, 3 redstone dust and 1 gold ingot. The Door Mat needs 8 wheat.
Usage
Doorbell
The Doorbell is mounted on the side of a solid block. It can only be placed on a horizontal face, and it breaks if the block behind it is removed. It is mined with a pickaxe, has a hardness of 2 and stacks to 64.
When a player right-clicks the Doorbell, it works only if it is connected to a powered electricity network. Unpowered doorbells do nothing when pressed. A powered doorbell does the following:
- It plays the doorbell chime sound.
- It stays in the pressed state for 20 ticks (one second). While pressed it sends a redstone signal of strength 16 to comparators, and the signal stops after the second has passed.
- It sends a chat notification to its owner, the player who placed it, if that player is online. The notification shows the doorbell's custom name.
The owner is not notified when they press their own doorbell. A notification is sent at most once every 600 ticks (30 seconds) per doorbell. A press during that cooldown still plays the chime and sends the redstone pulse, but no notification.
When the Doorbell is placed, the placing player's screen opens a name prompt. The name is limited to 32 characters, and only the owner can change it afterwards. The notification message uses this name, so a name such as "Front door" helps the owner tell doorbells apart on a large base. The notification setting is a client option, and it is on by default. Turning it off on the client stops the owner from receiving notifications; the chime still plays.
Door Mat
The Door Mat is a flat floor block, one sixteenth of a block tall. It stacks to 64, has a hardness of 1, and is mined with a hoe.
Placing a blank Door Mat opens its painting screen. The canvas is 14 pixels wide and 10 pixels tall, and each pixel is set to a colour from a fixed palette. A mat that has been finalised can no longer be repainted. The picture is stored on the item's data, so a painted mat keeps its design when it is picked up.
A painted Door Mat can be copied in a regular crafting grid. The grid must contain exactly one painted mat and any number of blank mats. The result is the painted design, with a count equal to the total number of door mats in the grid, and the painted mat is consumed in the process.
A water cauldron removes the picture from a painted Door Mat. Right-clicking the cauldron with the mat removes the art, returns one blank mat, and lowers the cauldron's water level by one. Only one mat is processed per use.
