The Kitchen Utensils are the hand tools and tableware added by Refurbished Furniture. The group covers the Spatula, the Wrench and the Plate, and the Television Remote. The Spatula flips food on a Frying Pan or a grill. The Wrench links powered devices to generators in the home electricity network. The Plate holds one food item that a seated player can eat. The Television Remote changes channels on a television. None of these items generate in the world, appear in chest loot or drop from mobs, so players obtain them by crafting or by collecting a placed plate.
Obtaining
None of the utensils generate naturally, appear in structure chests, drop from mobs or are sold by villagers. The pack adds no worldgen or loot injection for them.
Crafting
The Spatula and Wrench are shaped crafting recipes. The Plate is made at the workbench with the workbench's construction recipe, which uses one block of quartz. The recipes below are generated from the game data.
The Television Remote is also a shaped crafting recipe, not listed in the table above. It uses a redstone lamp in the top centre of the grid, redstone in the centre, and a copper ingot in the bottom centre. The six remaining cells hold iron nuggets.
Usage
Spatula
The Spatula is a sword built on the wooden tool tier, so it has 59 durability. Its special use is flipping food in the cooking appliances. Used on a Frying Pan or grill, it flips the items on the cooking surface. A dispenser holding a Spatula and facing one of these appliances performs the same flip. This dispenser behaviour applies only to this mod's own items.
Wrench
The Wrench is the link tool for the electricity network. It also has the item tag c:tools/wrench, which other mods may read as a wrench tool. Right-clicking any block while holding the Wrench does nothing to that block, and the block outline is hidden. The Wrench instead checks for a network node within 4.5 blocks of the player's eye line (5 blocks in creative mode). Interacting with a node starts or completes a link, and the Wrench also removes existing links. Link lines and link state are shown on the client.
Link limits are set in the mod:
- each node accepts up to 6 links;
- each generator accepts up to 12 links;
- a single network holds at most 64 nodes;
- a link longer than 512 blocks is rejected.
Each generator powers a box of radius 80 blocks by default. Devices outside the network stop working until they are linked. See Electricity for the full network rules.
Plate
A plate holds one item. Placing an item on an empty plate with a right-click uses one item from the stack, except in creative mode. If the plate is already holding an item, right-clicking it with another item in hand ejects the stored item as an entity. The plate's block drops the plate itself when broken.
A plate stores the item but does not feed the player. Eating happens on the same right-click: a player seated on a seat entity who right-clicks the plate while holding an item eats the stored food first, before any placement is tried. Chairs, sofas, stools, toilets and plates all use the same invisible seat entity, so a player sits on a chair next to the plate. The stored item must have a food component, and the player must be able to eat (not already full). Eating applies the item's nutrition and saturation values like any other food.
Television Remote
The Television Remote changes the channel of a television. The remote acts on the front face of a television within 16 blocks of the player's eye. Each use changes the channel on the server. The television has 12 channel constants, including white noise, a colour test, dance music and a retro song. The television can lose its signal during a thunderstorm, which is enabled by default in the pack config.
Items
The table below lists the items on this page. The Television Remote and the Plate's block are documented in the sections above.
| Item | Stack | Durability | Hardness |
|---|---|---|---|
Spatula | 1 | 59 | |
Wrench | 1 | ||
Plate | 64 | 1 |
Tips
- Stand within 4.5 blocks of a node when linking with the Wrench, since the node must be inside that reach.
- A Spatula in a dispenser can flip grill or frying pan contents automatically. Place the dispenser so it faces the appliance.
- Place a plate beside a chair or stool, sit down, then right-click the plate while holding an item to eat the stored food.
