The Light Toaster, Dark Toaster, Light Microwave and Dark Microwave are kitchen appliances added by MrCrayfish's Furniture Mod: Refurbished. The toasters cook bread slices and cheese sandwiches, and the microwaves cook potatoes. Each appliance is a powered device on an electricity network and does nothing while its node has no power.
The light and dark variants of each appliance have the same behaviour. The dark versions differ only in appearance and are made by adding black dye to the light version.
Obtaining
The light versions are crafted at a workbench from iron ingots and redstone dust, and the light microwave also needs a glass block. The dark versions are made from the light version plus black dye, either at a workbench or in an ordinary crafting grid. The ingredient counts are shown in the recipe grids below.

Toasters
A toaster has two item slots and no graphical interface. Right-clicking the toaster with a matching item in hand inserts one item into the first empty slot. Each slot holds one item, so a toaster can cook two items at once. Right-clicking with an empty hand removes an item and drops it above the block. Right-clicking with a non-matching item when both slots are full also removes an item. Items can only be inserted or removed while the toaster is not heating.
Heating is started by sneak-right-clicking the toaster or by right-clicking the side of the block where the lever is drawn. Heating can only start when the toaster is powered and holds at least one item. A redstone signal next to the toaster starts heating under the same conditions. When the toaster loses power during heating, it stops heating and its items stay in place.
The toaster heats all of its items at the same time. The batch takes as long as the slowest item in it, so a bread slice placed next to a cheese sandwich finishes at the same time as the sandwich, after 400 ticks. When the batch is done, the toaster switches off and the cooked items pop out above the block with a short pick-up delay.
| Input | Output | Heating time |
|---|---|---|
| Bread Slice | Toast | 300 ticks (15 seconds) |
| Cheese Sandwich | Cheese Toastie | 400 ticks (20 seconds) |
Toast is also used as an ingredient in the jam toast recipes, which are covered in Refurbished Furniture Food. The Cheese Toastie can also be cooked in a Frying Pan.
Microwaves
A microwave has one input slot and one output slot. Right-clicking the microwave opens its menu, where a potato is placed in the input slot and the baked potato is taken from the output slot. The microwave only processes items while it is powered and switched on. Its power switch can be toggled remotely through the Smart Home app of a computer on the same network.
A microwave takes 200 ticks (10 seconds) to turn a potato into a baked potato. Its door is shown open or closed as its menu is opened or closed. The microwave needs no fuel or energy items beyond the network's power.
| Input | Output | Heating time |
|---|---|---|
| Potato | Baked Potato | 200 ticks (10 seconds) |
Power
Toasters and microwaves are powered devices in the electricity network. Unpowered devices stop working, so a toaster or microwave that is not linked to a generator cannot cook. For how the network is built and linked, see Electricity.
Items
All four appliances have a stack size of 64. The toasters have a hardness of 2.5 and the microwaves a hardness of 3, and both are mined with a pickaxe.
| Item | Hardness |
|---|---|
Light Toaster | 2.5 |
Dark Toaster | 2.5 |
Light Microwave | 3 |
Dark Microwave | 3 |
