The Sinful Relics are a group of seven special weapons, tools and consumables added by Sons of Sins. Four are dropped by the mod's hostile creatures, two can be found in the Sinful Church chest, and the Sickle of Struggle and Shape-Shifting Tool are crafted from Soul Steel and Ether materials. Each relic has a narrow, distinctive effect: a weapon that clears invulnerability frames, a tool that switches between pickaxe, shovel and axe, or an item that cancels explosion damage for its holder.

Obtaining

The relics come from three sources. Crafted items use recipes that consume Soul Steel and Ether materials. Dropped items come from the creatures named in the table below. The Sinful Church chest is the only chest source.

The Sickle of Struggle needs four Soul Steel and a stick. The Shape-Shifting Tool needs three Crystallized Ether and two Soul Steel. Flesh of Demise can also be made by placing a bone in a blood pool, which runs the bone through the etheric blood imbibation recipe.

Sickle of Struggle and Flesh of Demise are the two relics that generate in the Sinful Church chest. Flesh of Demise appears in 16.3% of chests of that structure, while the Sickle of Struggle has a 100% chance per chest in the chest table. The four remaining drops come from Walking Bed, Prowler, Blud and Curse.

Usage

Each relic has one main use. The sections below give the mechanics that the generated tables do not show.

Sickle of Struggle

The Sickle of Struggle is a sword with 820 durability and 2 attack damage. It is a slicer. When it hits a mob or a player, the victim's invulnerable time is set to 0, so the target can be hit again immediately without waiting for the usual hit-invulnerability window. Slicer kills also drop organs and progress bottle-of-blood counts. The sickle reduces the wielder's entity interaction range by 0.5 blocks.

Shape-Shifting Tool

The Shape-Shifting Tool has 1600 durability and 3 attack damage. It does not have a fixed tool type. At harvest time it picks pickaxe, shovel or axe for each block, using the same correctness rules as the Sinful tools. The chosen type is stored on the item. The item is tagged as an enchantable durability item.

Flesh of Demise

Flesh of Demise is a stackable food item with 4 hunger points and 2.4 saturation. Eating it gives Blood Scent I for 60 seconds. Blood Scent is the in-game name for the Allure effect, which makes monsters within 4 blocks target the player. Nine Flesh of Demise can be crafted into a Block of Flesh, and the block can be turned back into nine items. Flesh of Demise is also a meat item in the minecraft:meat tag, so wolves and other mods that feed on meat accept it.

Puppet of Strife

The Puppet of Strife is a non-stackable item with a GUI. It holds one organ in its first slot: Creeper Ribs, Charged Creeper Ribs or Golem Cuirass. While the holder has the item in hand or in inventory, an explosion that hits the holder is cancelled. A fall that would deal damage is also cancelled when the stored organ is a Golem Cuirass. The item is then emptied, and its cooldown is set to the rounded damage multiplied by 4 ticks. The item only works if the holder also has an Ether Engine in the inventory or a filled urn of Ether Ashes.

Hand of Riot

The Hand of Riot is a non-stackable weapon with 8 attack damage and 1.6 attack speed. Its hit pushes the struck entity in the wielder's look direction with a strength of 1.2. The push is 1.6 if the target is sprinting, and -1.2 if the wielder is sneaking, which pulls the target toward the wielder. The hit also makes every mob within 8 blocks of the target set the target as its attack target. The item is fire resistant.

Touch of Greed

The Touch of Greed deals 4–9 magic damage on hit and applies Greed to the target for 60 ticks. Greed stops the target from taking fall damage, makes it descend slowly, and prevents it from jumping. Each use checks the wielder's storage for a Bottle of Blood. If none is present, the wielder takes 4–9 magic damage. If one is present, the bottle is removed from the wielder's inventory. The Greed effect is applied to the target in both cases.

Cursed Head

The Cursed Head is a non-stackable item with no combat stats. Hitting an entity removes one randomly chosen armor slot from it, if that slot holds an item. The removed piece drops on the ground with a 60-tick pickup delay. A player wielder gets a 10-tick cooldown on the item after each successful removal.
