Organ and Muscle Blocks are 25 items added by Sons of Sins: thirteen edible organs and twelve storage blocks made from them. Each organ is a food that grants a timed status effect when eaten, and each block compresses nine organs of one kind into a single block for storage or decoration. The organs come from slicing vanilla mobs, from the chest of the Sinful Church, from certain Sons of Sins creatures, and from lightning strikes.

In Fear Nightfall, the organ effects are part of the horror theme. Blood Scent draws monsters toward the player, and several effects make fights more dangerous or more lethal.

Obtaining

Players can obtain these items by crafting the blocks, by killing vanilla mobs with a slicer tool, by looting the Sinful Church chest, and as drops from Sons of Sins creatures.

• Slicing. Killing a mob with a slicer tool (the Sickle of Struggle or Butcher Cleaver) drops one organ from the mob's slicing loot table. Creepers drop Creeper Ribs, spiders and cave spiders drop Spider Hearts, Endermen drop Enderman Muscles, Blazes drop Blazing Hearts, Iron Golems drop Golem Cuirasses, Ravagers drop Ravager Muscles, Slimes drop Slime Rears, Snow Golems drop Ice Hearts, and Striders drop Strider Muscles.
• Sinful Church. The chest in the Sinful Church can contain Ribs, Muscles and Hearts. Its chances are shown in the table above.
• Sons of Sins creatures. Gulber drops organs when killed. Creatures that die in a blood pool can also drop Ribs, Muscles and Hearts.
• Lightning. Creeper Ribs held in either hand are converted to Charged Creeper Ribs, in the same count, when struck by lightning.

Usage

Every organ is always edible and restores 4 hunger points with 2.4 saturation. Eating an organ grants the effect listed for it, and the durations are shown in the table below. The organs are tagged as meat, so wolves and other meat-eating mods treat them as meat.

Status effects

Organs grant the following effects:

• Blood Scent (Ribs, Muscle, Heart): hostile monsters within 4 blocks target the player.
• Last Breath (Creeper Ribs, Charged Creeper Ribs): Creeper Ribs grant Last Breath I, and Charged Creeper Ribs grant Last Breath III.
• Instinct (Enderman Muscle): each hit the player takes has a 15% chance to teleport the player to a sturdy block near the attacker. Incoming damage is multiplied by 0.7 while the effect is active. Neither applies while the player is in water.
• Hercules Fury (Ravager Muscle): attacks deal +6 damage at level I, plus 2 per additional level.
• Slowness III (Ravager Muscle): granted alongside Hercules Fury, so the player moves slowly while gaining the damage bonus.
• Boiling (Blazing Heart): attacks set the target on fire for 6 to 16 seconds.
• Arctic Cells (Ice Heart): attacks freeze the target for 16 to 32 seconds.
• Acid Bloodstream (Spider Heart): attacks give the target Poison IV for 5 seconds.
• Fire Resistance and Hydrophobia (Strider Muscle): Hydrophobia deals 2 damage to the player while in water. Fear Nightfall reduces this from every half second to once per second.
• Stretchy Tendons and Nausea (Slime Rear): Stretchy Tendons are granted for 5 seconds with Nausea for 10 seconds.
• Enderman Muscle and Golem Cuirass: the Golem Cuirass has no food effect.

These effects are defined in Sons of Sins Effects.

Other uses

• Puppet of Strife. A Creeper Rib, Charged Creeper Rib or Golem Cuirass placed in the Puppet's first slot protects the holder. When the holder takes explosion damage, or fall damage for the Golem Cuirass, that damage is cancelled, and the organ is used up. The Puppet requires an Ether Engine in the inventory or a filled Urn to work.
• Furnace fuel. A Blazing Heart burns for 6000 ticks (5 minutes) in a furnace.
• Storage. The blocks are mineable with any tool and have a hardness of 0.7 and a blast resistance of 3. They drop themselves when they survive an explosion.

• Charged Creeper Ribs: the lightning-converted form of Creeper Ribs. It is the only organ listed here with Last Breath III.
• Golem Cuirass: the organ with no food effect. It is mainly used with the Puppet of Strife.
