Trims are decorative blocks added by the Handcrafted mod for NeoForge 1.21.1. Each material has two shapes, a pillar trim and a corner trim, for 46 blocks in total: 22 wood trims covering the 11 vanilla wood types (acacia, bamboo, birch, cherry, crimson, dark oak, jungle, mangrove, oak, spruce and warped), and 24 stone trims covering 12 stone-type materials (andesite, blackstone, bricks, calcite, deepslate, diorite, dripstone, granite, quartz, stone, sandstone and red sandstone). They are finishing blocks for edges of walls, floors and ceilings. They are not related to Armor Trims, the smithing-template upgrades for armour.
Obtaining
Crafting
Every trim is made at a crafting table. A pillar trim takes 3 of its base material and yields 4 blocks. A corner trim takes 5 of its base material and yields 4 blocks. Wood trims use the matching planks, and stone trims use the base block of their material. The recipes are shown below.
The Handcrafted mod adds no trims to world generation, mob drops or villager trades. Each trim drops itself when broken, and it survives explosions.
Usage
Pillar trims
Pillar trims attach to the floor, the ceiling or a wall, depending on the face clicked. Each has a trim property with three profiles, normal, thicc and thin, and a type property with two values, 1 and 2. The type property changes only the block model. The collision and selection shape depend on the trim profile and the attachment face.
Corner trims
Corner trims sit on the side of a block and face the player's horizontal direction. Their vertical position is set by where the block is clicked. A trim placed on the top face of a block takes the bottom half. A trim placed on the underside of a block takes the top half. On a side face, a click above the middle of the block takes the top half, and a click below takes the bottom half. Corner trims have one trim property, with the same normal, thicc and thin profiles as pillar trims.
Both kinds can be waterlogged. Corner trims placed in water become waterlogged.
Hammer
The Hammer changes a trim's shape in place. Using it on a corner trim or a pillar trim cycles the trim property through normal, thicc and thin. On a pillar trim, holding Shift while using the hammer cycles the type property between 1 and 2 instead. Each hammer use plays the wood or stone hammer sound, depending on the material.
Mining
Wood trims have a hardness of 2 and a blast resistance of 3, and they are mined with an axe. Stone trims are mined with a pickaxe, which is required to collect them. Their hardness and blast resistance follow the copied material. Calcite, quartz, sandstone and red sandstone trims have a blast resistance of 0.75 to 0.8, while andesite, blackstone, bricks, diorite, granite and stone trims have a blast resistance of 6. Deepslate trims have a hardness of 3, the highest of any trim. The full values for each trim appear in the table below.
Items
- Wood trims come in a pillar and a corner version for each of the 11 vanilla wood types. Crimson and warped are the two nether wood sets.
- Stone trims come in a pillar and a corner version for each of the 12 stone-type materials. Their hardness ranges from 0.75 (calcite) to 3 (deepslate).
- Deepslate trims are the hardest trims by mining time, which makes them the most durable choice for trim in the dark, horror-themed structures of the pack.
