Decorative Pots are 16 decorative blocks added by Handcrafted. They come in four sizes (Thin, Medium, Wide and Thick) and four families (Terracotta, White Glazed, Blue Glazed and Golden), giving one pot for every size and family pair. The pots have no function beyond decoration. They are not full cubes, hold no items, and have no block entity or right-click interaction.

The families differ in durability. The Terracotta, White Glazed and Blue Glazed pots have a hardness of 2 and a blast resistance of 2. The Golden pots have a hardness of 3 and a blast resistance of 6, so they are the most durable pots. All 16 pots stack to 64 and are mined with a pickaxe.

Obtaining

Decorative Pots are not found in the world. The mod adds no world generation, villager trades or mob drops, and it does not add pots to any loot table. Players obtain them by crafting. Breaking a pot drops the pot itself.

Crafting

The Terracotta pots are crafted from terracotta alone. The Thin pot takes 4 terracotta, the Medium pot 6, the Wide pot 5 and the Thick pot 7, and each recipe yields 3 pots.

The other three families are made by combining a Terracotta pot of the same size with one extra ingredient, and each recipe yields 1 pot:

Because of this, a glazed or golden pot costs one Terracotta pot plus the extra ingredient, and each Terracotta pot is made in a batch of 3.

Usage

Pots are purely decorative and are placed like any other block. Each size has its own collision and outline shape, and the shape is the same for collision, so a pot cannot be walked through. The shapes are as follows, measured in sixteenths of a block:

  • Thin: 14 tall, with a base 8 wide.
  • Medium: 12 tall, with a base 12 wide.
  • Wide: 8 tall, with a base 14 wide.
  • Thick: 14 tall, with a base 12 wide.

The Wide pot is the lowest of the four, so it suits low surfaces such as tables and counters. The Thin and Thick pots reach the same height, but the Thick pot has a broader base. The Terracotta, White Glazed and Blue Glazed families mine at the same speed, and the Golden family takes longer to mine because its hardness is 3.

Pots are in the minecraft:mineable/pickaxe tag, and the pack treats a pickaxe as their required tool.

Items

Each family has four sizes, so the sixteen pots form four matching sets. The table below lists them with their generated stats.

Tips

  • Place pots of different sizes next to each other to vary the silhouette of a shelf or windowsill.
  • Crockery and Mob Trophies are the other decorative blocks added by the same mod and can be placed alongside pots.
  • Golden pots have the highest blast resistance of the set (6), so they are the sturdier choice near explosions.
