The Berry Jam Jar is a decorative block added by the Handcrafted mod. It is a glass jar that can be stacked vertically, up to three jars on one block space, which makes it a compact way to fill a shelf, counter or kitchen with food stores. It has no effect on gameplay beyond its appearance and the item it drops when broken.

Obtaining

The Berry Jam Jar is not found in the world and does not appear in any chest loot table, mob drop or villager trade in this modpack. Players obtain it only by crafting it.

The recipe is shapeless, so the two ingredients may be placed in any positions in the crafting grid. One sweet berry and one glass bottle make one jar. The item stacks to 64 in the inventory.

Usage

The jar is a decorative block that is placed like other blocks. It is placed facing the player, and it is mineable with a pickaxe. Its hardness and blast resistance match those of glass.

Stacking

Each block space holds one, two or three jars. The jar count is stored as the jars block state, and the block is drawn in one of three shapes:

• One or two jars use the same short model, a 9 by 9 by 9 pixel box centred in the block space.
• Three jars use a taller 9 by 16 by 9 pixel box, which reaches the full height of one block.

To stack a jar, right-click an existing jar while holding another Berry Jam Jar, without holding Shift. Holding Shift while placing prevents stacking. A stack cannot grow beyond three jars, so placing onto a full stack does not add a fourth jar.

Stacking is the only interaction the block has. It does not respond to the Hammer, and it has no inventory or redstone output.

Water

A jar placed in a water source is waterlogged, which lets it sit in water like other waterlogged blocks. A jar placed on a stack of jars that is waterlogged keeps the waterlogged state.

Breaking

Breaking a jar drops Berry Jam Jars according to the number of jars in the block space:

The drop is not affected by the tool used to break the block. Explosions can reduce the number of items dropped, as with other blocks that use the vanilla explosion decay rule.
