The Hammer (Handcrafted) is a craft-only tool added by the Handcrafted mod. It changes the look of furniture blocks and the shape of trim blocks without breaking or replacing them. It is the only tool the mod adds.

The Hammer is the main way for players to vary the appearance of the mod's storage furniture, drawers, shelves and trims. Its tooltip lists the actions it performs: right-click to change a block's look or shape, and shift-right-click to change a block's look on pillar trims.

Obtaining

The Hammer cannot be found in chests, dropped by mobs or bought from villagers. It is only obtained by crafting.

Usage

The Hammer is a single item with a stack size of 1. It has no durability and is not consumed when used. Right-clicking a block with the Hammer calls that block's hammer behaviour. Blocks that do not respond to the Hammer ignore it, and the click falls through to the block's normal interaction.

The Hammer affects these blocks:

• Cupboards and kitchen counters: right-click cycles the block's TYPE property, which changes its look. Cupboards have two looks.
• Drawers: right-click cycles the TYPE property, which changes the look. Drawers have four looks.
• Shelves: right-click cycles the TYPE property, which changes the look.
• Corner trims and pillar trims: right-click cycles the SHAPE property, which changes the shape of the trim. Pillar trims also support the look change: shift-right-click cycles the TYPE property instead.
• Kitchen hood pipes: right-click toggles the pipe's corner state and turns it to face the side that was clicked, if that side is horizontal.

Every hammer action plays a sound. Wood blocks (cupboards, drawers, shelves, counters, and wood trims) play hammer_wood. Stone trims and kitchen hood pipes play hammer_stone.

Other tools, such as hammers and wrenches from other mods, may compete for the same right-click on Handcrafted blocks, because the item-use path is shared.
