Organs are the food items that the Butchery mod by Jmods produces when a carcass is cut up. They include raw and cooked hearts, lungs, kidneys, livers, stomachs and intestines from ordinary mobs, separate enderman and frog variants, the Withered Heart, and rotten organs that are edible but cause hunger. Organs are the main meat-adjacent output of the butchering process, and several of them carry status effects when eaten. Enderman organs and the Withered Heart are the most notable for Fear Nightfall, since endermen and wither-related carcasses are common in the pack's darker biomes.
Obtaining
Organs come from cutting up carcasses, not from natural generation or from vanilla drops. A carcass is created when a mob dies to a killer holding a cleaver (or with the Butcher's Touch or Hunter enchantment), is bled on a hook, and is then cut up with a cleaver or skinning knife. See Butchering and Carcasses and Corpses for the full process. The Organs config option is on by default; when it is off, cut-ups produce no organs at all.
From cut-ups
Most mob cut-up procedures roll the organ loot tables in addition to their meat and skin drops. The tables are:
- Heart and lungs: each roll of the table gives one Heart and one Lungs. Cows, for example, roll this table several times per cut-up, with the number of extra rolls chosen at random.
- Kidney and liver: each roll gives two Kidneys and one Liver.
- Intestines and stomach: each roll gives one Intestines and one Stomach.
Player corpses use their own organ tables, which yield a Heart and a Kidney, a Liver, a Stomach or Intestines.
Enderman organs
Endermen yield raw enderman versions of the organs: intestines, kidneys, livers, lungs, stomachs and hearts. The Raw Enderman Heart is a special case; it is not edible (see Enderman heart below). The enderman cut-up procedure rolls its heart table with a 60% chance of a Raw Enderman Heart per roll.
Frog and Wither hearts
- Frog Heart: a frog cut-up always yields one Frog Heart, plus a Lungs from a separate table.
- Withered Heart: a Wither cut-up always yields one Withered Heart. It also has a 50% chance of a Wither Bone.
Rotten organs
Undead carcasses yield rotten organs instead of fresh ones. These include zombies, husks, drowned, zombie villagers, zombified piglins, zoglins and zombie horses. The rotten organs are Rotten Heart, Rotten Lungs, Rotten Kidney, Rotten Liver, Rotten Intestines and Rotten Stomach.

Usage
Organs are food. Cooking raises their hunger value and saturation (see the table below), and the cooked forms are the usual way to eat them. Campfire, smoker and furnace recipes exist for each raw organ. Several organs also apply effects when eaten:
- Frog Heart: gives Jump Boost level 1 for 600 ticks (30 seconds).
- Rotten organs: each has an 80% chance to give Hunger level 2 for 600 ticks. Rotten organs are also compostable at a 30% chance.
- Withered Heart: the heart has the highest food value of any organ on this page and is always edible, even when the player is full. Eating it gives the Withers Blessing effect for 6000 ticks (5 minutes). Eating it also has a 25% chance of giving the Wither effect at level 13 for 250 ticks, which can kill a player quickly. Eating a second Withered Heart while the blessing is still active does not refresh the blessing and does not roll for the Wither effect again.
Enderman heart
The Raw Enderman Heart cannot be eaten. To use it, hold a knife in the main hand and the heart in the off hand, then right-click. Each use consumes one heart and one durability point from the knife, and gives the player one ender pearl. This is the only way the heart is used.

Raw Blood Sausage | Intestines | Meat Grinder |
Honey Bottle | Honey Stomach | Crafting |
Intestines are an ingredient in the meat grinder, where they make raw sausages. The meat grinder is part of Butchery Workstations. Honey Stomach is crafted with a glass bottle into a honey bottle.
Brain block
The Brain is a placed block, not a food. Zombies, husks, drowned, zombie villagers and zombified piglins are given a goal to search for and break Brain blocks within 4 blocks of them. Brains placed near zombie spawns or villages are therefore likely to be broken.
